“Take the Tour”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

We heard the tour was worth doing and it certainly was. It is 90 min of behind-the-scenes fun. You go to areas the fans don't get to see. There was a game that evening so we couldn't tour the locker rooms (something to keep in mind). Our guide, Patty, was very knowledgeable and knew so many stats. Going out onto the field and dugout area was a kick. A couple of the team players were out on the field with their kids for a photo shoot. The pitchers were warming up in the practice area with a couple of young boys. The stadium is nicely situated in town with easy access by foot or however you wish to get there. We weren't planning to attend a game but found out from our guide Patty that for $5 you could sit on the grass in the Park in the Park and still have access to most of the ballpark for food, restrooms, etc. Since our rented condo was only a couple of blocks away, we went back to view the fireworks - Summer Blast - and it was HUGE. It made up for the 4th of July fireworks debacle.

“Great Park”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

Petco was right across from my hotel. There was no game going on at this time, but I went over and walked around. Hope to some day catch a game there.

“Great ballpark”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

My husband and I recently caught a Padres game at Petco Park, and it was a fun experience. The park is very clean, and the website has really helpful info re: parking. It was a fun experience, even though only one run was scored the entire game! And the nachos left a little to be desired (the cheese was cold), but it's ballpark food, so I guess my expectations shouldn't be too high. :)

“Dog Night”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

I attended the Padres games at Petco Park on July 16 and 17, 2012. The game on July 17 was Dog Night. Hundreds of fans brought their pet dogs to the game, and they paraded around Petco Park prior to the game. In addition, Padre pitcher, Clayton Richard, signed autographs for the dog owners prior to the game. Furthermore, one of our four legged friends tossed out the ceremonial first pitch. Dog Night is a unique idea and is very entertaining. In general, Petco Park is a very clean and modern park, and there is no bad seat. Moreover, the employees are very courteous. The fans are also very civilized. Finally, tickets prices are not as high as some other professional teams.
