“Excellent food and friendly service”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

Spent the day in San Diego and could not have picked a better place for lunch. We chose to sit outside which has bar type seating rather than tables. Everything was excellent! Onion rings with a light crispy batter, very fresh lightly battered cod with fresh cut fries, bbq sliders and salad with dried cranberries, walnuts and apple cider vinegrette dressing. Wait staff was very attentive and extremely friendly. If back in San Diego we will go back there. Wonder if we will ever fine another domestic Irish pub as good as this one.

“Not as good as we hoped”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

It cost us $40 just to park in downtown San Diego, so that may have clouded my objectivity for this review. That's the caveat, up front.

We were seated and served immediately, and my glasses were kept a solid eye on. Nice work there.

I went for the Shepherd's Pie, not knowing what to expect, having never encountered it up close. I was satisfied with what I was served: lots of good mashed potatoes, meat, veggies, etc. But my companions weren't as impressed. They complained that there were way too many potatoes, and the meat wasn't cooked as it should have been.

Stone Pale Ale's cost $7 apiece, the going rate. Very tasty brew.

Not enough onion rings in the appetizer order for 8 bucks. Come on, people!

I'd heard great things about this place. Unfortunately, circumstances may have set the stage for a less than Wow! experience.

Thanks for reading.

“Is this an Irish Pub or a sports bar?”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

We thought we were coming to a traditional Irish pub with Irish music. Instead, whilst there was an attempt to furnish the pub in traditional Irish rustic style the three large TV screens showing baseball and American Football which dominated the bar. Pleasant waitress, good Guinness served. Meals were okay. European size servings which suited us but I think that those used to American size portions would be disappointed. We would not visit again.

“Good food and atmosphere”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Had a really nice experience here. The food is actually pretty good for Irish food, and the selection on the menu was pretty decent also. I went with a typical Guinness and Cider for drinks, but wished they had Murphy's on tap, but nope. The layout is a typical Irish true pub and wood decor and servants.
