We took our party of 8 to this authentic German restaurant and had a terrific evening. With reservations, we were seated right away, but the place was packed. It took awhile to get served, although the bier and soft drinks came right away. I've had the wiener schnitzel before and it was delicious, but settled this time for the special (and much less expensive) pork schnitzel, which was very tasty. The dinners come with soup or salad and two sides and I selected spaetzel (delicious after adding a little salt and pepper) and applesauce (ordinary). There were plenty of other sides, including German pancakes, red cabbage, sauerkraut, etc. Others in our party had sauerbraten, kasseler rippchen and the wurst platte. All were pleased with their meals.

The cozy place is well decorated with German artifacts and lots of awards on the wall.

The small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant was full when we arrived in two vehicles and we had to park several blocks away.

Outside the city in Oceanview, easy to reach by Bus.5$ will get you a 24 unlimited use of the SD transit system.
We had Lunch in the Bier Garten.Lunch Menu is somewhat limited,Dinner Menu has more choices.
The Food was excellent and authentic .
Service was very slow, our waiter had a large table and was unable to take care of us in a timely fashion. We had to get Butter from another table and water from the bar.His Irish accent did not match the atmosphere.Good German Beer selection and cold.
Worthwhile visit.

Pretzel came to us clearly microwaved. Goulash soup tasted like canned soup. Potato pancake clearly re-fried to order. Spaetzle was flavorless. Jäger schnitzel was good. Took a peek in the kitchen after we ate and it looked like it was closed down for the evening. This was at 9:30 on a Thursday to give them the benefit of the doubt. Service was friendly and beer was good.

Brush up on your German and order a bier. The cook was great he asked us how are meal was. The waitresses were great. They reminded me how to order in German. It's been awhile. The food is like grandma use to make. Love this place. Will be back soon.

Was here for dinner with a large group. Our waiter, Mike, was very good.. It can be tough with a big group, but he didn't miss a beat. If you eat in the beer garden they have a separate menu which is much more affordable. Otherwise meals can be pricey.
Sausages great, potato pancakes very good, red cabbage had perfect amount of vinegar taste. Meatloaf was also quite good. Wish they would do separate checks. But definitely worth a trip. I will return (when I have save up again)
