“More fun than any 5 star restaurant”
Reviewed September 24, 2006

Even after 8 hours at the zoo and a long walk from Balboa Park to get here (forever known as the Balboa Death March), this place put a smile on my face. It has a whole 50's theme and it begins with your waitress walking up to you and throwing straws all over your table. One waitress even sat down next to people at their booth when they were giving their order. And at the end, they throw candy on your table when they deliver the bill. For a fun and unique time, order the burger with peanut butter on it. I know it sounds strange but it is very, very good. Beware, though. The portions can be very big. My girlfriend had a salad and the miniburger appetizer only and it could feed a family of four.

“It gets better everytime”
Reviewed September 17, 2006

Back again after a 3 year gap - we loved this place when we were over from the UK 3 years ago. This time we had just driven Route 66 so it was appropriate that we ate at the Corvette Diner.

Lots of younger kids in this time but that's great. Food was typical burger joint stuff - this isn't a Gordon Ramsay joint. It was my Daughter's 19th birthday a few days earlier so the staff gave her a cheesecake with a candle stuck in it and then performed a dance routine - great stuff - they did this three ago too.

The local area has been developed since our last visit - lots of places to eat out - lots of neon.

Highly recommended.

“Go for the desserts only”
Reviewed January 11, 2006

The place is fun, the music, waitresses and "hair-doing" a blast for the kids. Unfortunately, the food is just above inedible. I take my kids here several times a year, they love the atmosphere, but, having now tried about everything on the menu, we have decided never to order anything but desserts and french fries again. Burgers, salads, steaks, meatloaf, sandwiches, mashed potatoes, all have left our table mostly uneaten, they were that bad. But you can enjoy the atmosphere and just order what they are are good at, desserts.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed October 16, 2005

If your looking for a fun place to visit while your in San Diego then stop by the Corvette Diner. The extensive menu along with the 50's atmosphere make it a great place to take the kids. Our waitress was awesome, sitting with us while we ordered and throwing stuff at us throughout the meal.
Ever have 50 straws tossed at you? Fried pickles taste better than they sound. If you have long hair, they might braid some straws into it and give you a new style! Their DJ takes requests and the staff dances along!
