“First stop in San Diego”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

Living on the east coast I must stop at El Indio for an authentic Mexican taste. The burritos overflow with taste and food. Get there early enough and get a fresh tortilla off the tortilla maker. Make sure to use their free parking just pass on the left. Also get chips and salsa to go. The Bunelo chips on a plane ride home top it off.

“A Tradition for me”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

I started patronizing El Indio back in the late 1960's when I first moved to San Diego. It has been a favorite of mine and my family all these years. Can't beat the food, and the tradition behind it. There are no Taquitos anywhere that come close. My last trip to San Diego had me taking some in my carry on for a treat when I got home to Tucson. I like the food, the atmosphere and most of all the memories that El Indio brings back whenever I go there.

“Relaxed Mexican”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

A relaxed and casual eatery not far from the San Diego Airport. Walk up front, browse the menu on the wall above the counter, and place your order. Then get your drinks and find a table. When you good is ready your name will be called. No muss, no fuss, and good Mexican food to boot. Not outstanding, but worth stopping in.

“Best pork tamale with chile verde in the world.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

You order at the counter and pick up there. El Indio is noisy and I've yet to see someone in there who is sad. Orcheta in the drink dispenser. They have tortilla chips baked in cinnamon and sugar. You can buy the sauces to go.

“Great Mexican Food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

Parking can be tough at times, there are lines you may need to handle, but the reason is that the food is THAT GOOD, eat in, take out, get added stuff to eat at home or take to a party. If you can handle the issues that come with the unbounded popularity of the food here, you have a real winner!
