After a mid evening of walking the Gaslamp the husband and I decided to try a familiar restaurant despite our unfamiliar surroundings (tourist). Our experience was very delightful. Our waitress, Kimberly was a doll :-) she was very pleasant and tentative with a very down to earth approach. Their Happy Hour was really good as well, especially for a Sunday, as all their appetizers were half off and 1.50$ for all bottled beers ;-). Our orders were taken quickly and arrived hot and timely. Would indeed visit again and would ask for Kimberly :-)

Normally this is a good chain restaurant and there is some consistency from place to place. This place was bad. The food was without flavor and prepared poorly. We sat outside because there was no air-conditioning inside and it was quite muggy in San Diego the week we were there. The tables outside were very dirty. The service was friendly (which is why I'm not giving them 1 star), but that's the only positive thing I can say. Avoid this place and try one of the multitude of options in the gas lamp area. Barley mash is a great place to go and its right down the street.

The Gaslamp district was wonderful except this hour and a half of our lives. We usually don't eat at chains when we travel, but love to taste local restaurant, but there was a game on that we wanted to watch and we walked here from our hotel. The staff was very unfriendly and not accommodating, much more interested in texting their friends and what was happening on the streets. We asked to see the manager to file out complaints but to no avail. The food was so slow, we ordered salads. Basic salad condiments were not available. The facility was dark, dirty, and dated.

Unlike other reviews on here. We ate here on a busy friday nightand had an excellent meal. The staff were very good and the food great. It was a little noisy, but hey it was a friday. Dont be put off by the small menu on display near the entrance, that;s only a sample of the full menu.

And appetizers were half off. Beyond that the tables were dirty and service was slow, despite about 1/4 full. Paying took 20 minutes and never take your own ticket up to the bar, as the surly barmaid doesn't like working out of her niche.
