Old Town is pretty much all about Mexican food, but if you want something different, this is a great alternative.

They have a terrific lunch special with your choice of several entrees, including a couple of good curries. The lunch specials are accompanied by a cup of soup, a salad, and steamed rice, all for $6.99. You can choose how spicy you want your meal.

I chose the Penang curry with chicken, which was quite good and appropriately spicy. The coconut soup was also quite good. The service was friendly and efficient and the bill was small.

Next door to the restaurant is an historic graveyard, which makes for an interesting after lunch walk.

My wife and I had overdosed on Mexican food (very good, I'd add) in Old Town, and were just looking for something else inexpensive in the area. We stumbled on this place, and it filled the bill. The pad thai was exactly as expected, the service was good, and the ambience pretty good also. While I'm not motivated to give an Excellent rating, and in fact struggled between Average and Very Good, I did decide that the dining experience was better than what we usually get at Thai restaurants, and deserved the better rating.

I noticed that when the credit card charge came through, the vendor was listed as Siam Smile Land, and a quick web check verified that they currently go by both names. However, D'O Thai Cottage is the one on the building.

We walked in just as the Happy Hours were ending .. but were graciously offered an extension

The food was good .. but not really to the extent of making you feel ecstatic

The location is good .. right on the main road in Old own .. barely a 100 metres away from the church

Good place to visit for a decent & competent meal

I came here because of a restaurant.com certificate. They also have great happy hour specials. Friendly service, great prices, and excellent thai food. I highly recommend!
