We stayed five nights over 4th of July weekend for a family trip. I booked two rooms (adjoining) one for the adults the other for the teenagers. The hotel is located in a great location for Gaslamp Quarter nightlife, the waterfront and of course Petco Park. We had tickets for three baseball games, so the 3rd floor walkway from the hotel to the ballpark was fantastic. The line for the elevators post-game can get long, but it didn't take more than about 5 minutes to get back up to our room.
The rooms are well appointed, but I did think the bed was a little soft and mushy. I woke up with a bit of a back ache every morning.
There is a McCormick & Schmick's in the hotel and a small shop with Starbuck's coffee too. I was surprised for a hotel of this size that there weren't more dining options. There is a small seated area just outside the restaurant that offer bar service and light snacks. I suppose with so many restaurant options right outside the hotel door, there isn't really a need for more within the Omni. The only real downside is that unless you are an Omni member, they charge a daily fee for Wi-Fi. It's supposed to be for a 24 hour period, but when we logged in for a second time within the first 10 hours, they wanted to charge us again. We called the front desk and they assured us the add'l charge would be taken off the bill. We didn't try it again after that.
We would definitely stay here again, especially for another baseball weekend. I got amazing pre-pay rates from hotels.com that made this an excellent value.
