Walk from Downtown along the water to Seaport Village for a nice view. Take a ferry ride to Coronado and back.

My family and I walked through downtown (specifically the Gaslamp Quarter) after leaving the USS Midway for me to pick up shirts at Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues. It was like any other downtown: lots of restaurants, homeless, and people with mental deficiencies roaming about. This was about 4 in the afternoon and the lady at House of Blues said it was the norm in the afternoon. For example, one older lady walking down the street would yell and curse at everyone she passed. I would definitely not recommend the downtown area to females or anyone with children.

The downtown area is one of the nicest in the country. The restaurant and bar scene are particularly active making it a nocturnal attraction not often found in the US. The location of PetCo in the downtown area gives everyone one more reason to pay a visit. The downtown area contributes immensely to the appeal of SD.

A very diverse location, with so many different places to eat, drink, lounge, dance. Nearby is Balboa Park, the Zoo, Seaport Village, the airport. I love it!

This is a beautiful city with much to do. With the Gasllamp district and its wonderful selection of restaurants, the convention center, Petco Park, Seaport Village, Little Italy, the harbor (all within walking distance), how can you miss!
