Very interesting to see how the lighthouse keeper and family lived. Nice job of restoration. Lovely views. Don't miss the Coast Defense Exhibit nearby - fascinating.

Old Point Loma Lighthouse is worth a see while you're in San Diego! The views of the ocean, the city & Coronado are beautiful from the top! The lighthouse/lightkeeper's house is an interesting glimpse back into life on the West Coast in the early part of the century. There is a fee of $5.00/vehicle to get in to the Park, but it's good for a week, and you get to see the tidal pools, the Lighthouse, Cabrillo National Monument and the National Cemetery. It is very windy & a little cool at the top, so maybe bring a light jacket.

Worth a trip overall!

Awesome views, interesting history and well preserved.

Great place to see all of San Diego and Navy North Island.

Don't miss it!

We expected to see a big pretty lighthouse. I guess since its on the top of a ridge, it doesn't need to be tall. It looks more like a house.

They tease you by letting you enter and climb the spiral staircase to top floor only to see a grate above the opening above you and a sign saying its closed.

The lighthouse is a short walk uphill and has interesting exhibits. But the real deal is the view that you get of San Diego Bay and Coronado Island. Go on a sunny day as it can be windy and cool!
