To reach this lighthouse, one must travel through San Diego Naval property. Once out to the lighthouse, the views are spectucular of the San Diego shoreline and the city! One may also may be fortunate to see the military helicopters and jets in flight as well! Point Loma is the perfect place to enjoy a bite to eat when traveling to or returning from the lighthouse as well.

I really enjoyed this lighthouse. It is very well maintained and the setting at Point Loma is outstanding for ocean, harbor and San Diego skyline views. A fantastic way to spend a day when combined with a visit to Fort Rosencras National Veterans Cemetery and Coranado Island.

Seek the ocean view over the cliffs or turn around and see the Navy protecting the San Diego skyline. Either direction promises to take your breath away and fill you with pride under the winter skies.

Follow the paths down to tide pools at low tide and spend an hour wading with the wildlife. Or walk down to Rosecrans National Cemetery and pay respects for those who have given us the freedom to safely enjoy the view.

There are not many of these out there so take advantage of it. Beautiful structure, expansive views, wonderful landscaping. Takes you back in time.

I loved this little park it has a great view and nice garden area to walk around in. I think it is one of the smaller lighthouses on the west coast.
