Our trip was better because the hotel staff was friendly and helpfull, Well location, if you want to walk you have the marina in front of, so for the price you get much more what you expect.

This older but well maintained hotel is in a fabulous location, at the entrance to Point Loma off North Harbor Drive 5 minutes from the San Diego airport, directly across from a marina and seawall, and just off the very tip of Shelter Island. For walkers, it's perfect. But it is also a good jumping off point, close to the Convention Center, Coronado, the Downtown area, Sea World, and the San Diego Zoo. There is bus service steps away or easy access to major routes for cars. My room was clean and adequately furnished. The bathroom is small and would be impossible to share at the same time for two but all fixtures were in good working order. A breakfast with suitable variety is supplied accompanied by a complimentary paper. For dinner, there are several quality restaurants within walking distance and many more a short drive away. There is a lovely patio overlooking the harbour with ample chairs and loungers to use. There is an unheated pool that was a bit too cool to try on this stay but one I plan to use when I return. I can unreservedly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling on a budget who does not want to sacrifice location when visiting San Diego.

Room Tip: No elevator so ground floor preferable for those who have difficulty with stairs. Ground floor also...

The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful, made our stay very pleasant. The room was average, but met our needs. The pool was acceptable. Breakfast was good, but it truly is self-serve, a step above a continental, but not much. Convenient location to harbor and airport but a $20 cab ride to real nightlife. Can't go wrong for the price.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the street will keep the noise down

Room was very clean. It had an adjoining smaller sitting room with a couch. Bed was very large and comfortable. Conveniently located close to good restaurants and harbor activities.
Only bad experience was street noise and airplanes taking off from San Diego Airport. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs or noise canceling earphones. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly.
This is a good hotel if you are in need of clean cheaper accommodations while in San Diego. Good value for the price.

Room Tip: Second floor is probably quieter.

My friend was getting married at the Navy submarine base, so this was a very convenient location. However, there are several things that I was very unhappy with: (1) Parking lot is tiny and very difficult to maneuver car in. (2) Comforter had cigarette burn hole, openly displayed, on it. (3) Couch was broken and cushion did not sit properly (4) Shower door was TINY. If I was a large person, I would have not been able to take a shower. (5) Broken tile in entry way of room. (6) Room was non smoking but smelled of smoke. (7) No pool or hot tub. Would I stay here again? Probably not. I think I'd look for another Comfort Inn at another location.

This was a nice property and good value for the money. It was a great jumping off point for Mission Valley and Coronado and San Diego overall. The staff were very pleasant -- front desk and housekeeping. Breakfast was fine -- and the bed was comfortable. I'd stay here again.
