Owner description: Mission Brewery, located in the East Village of Downtown San Diego, next to Petco Park, has been brewing commercially for over six years. Mission Brewing not only has tasty beer, the tasting room is large and comfortable. It also has lots of seating. I love, love, love this place.

FYI, don’t park on the street in front of the brewery on Padre game days – you WILL get towed. I work in a building nearby and we watch those tow trucks pull in and pull every car out. Park on National Ave or Commercial Street if you are within 3 hours of a baseball game.

The Brewery is housed in a 1884 building that was once a Wonder Bread Bakery complete with an original grain silo guarded by at least two cats. The bar was huge as were the ceiling heights! There was a good selection of microbrews sold as a tasting, a flight, a pint or a growler. I had the milk stout and it was very good.
The wait staff was friendly and even called a cab for us. The bags of chips on the counter were free. No food was served inside, but there was a roach wagon outside.

They also have tours, but not when we were there. The music was a touch loud, but overall it was a very fun experience.

Love the old restored building and the sparse industrial exterior. Very clean and neat with lots of promotional T shirts and sweatshirts to buy. Huge interior and great beers, We were there on a Thursday mid day and the service was horrible. Very few people in there yet, two bartenders, and we were not even acknowledged for standing in front of two of them at the bar for over 10 minutes. C&H

You are entering a working brewery. A great selection of so go for the tasters first then get a pint of your favorite. Shipwreck Double IPA is available in quart cans to go.

Although we enjoyed the craft beer and the architecture there were only two employees behind the bar. The line was twenty deep at one point and they ran out of clean sample glasses, therefor we could not do a tasting. Really. For those with dogs they are dog friendly. They also will fill all growlers.
