“Great beer and great food”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

What more could you ask for. They have tons of beers on tap including many experimental or R&D beers as they call them. The food is fresh and tastes amazing. I recommend the duck nachos. So good.

“Beer Run!”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

This location doesn't have the best parking available, but it was very busy when we arrived (late afternoon on a Wednesday). There was not an abundance of seating and the tables were all full, so we decided to just grab a 6 pack of grapefruit Sculpin and a souvenir copper mug and leave. That being said, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. There was even a small food stand on the outdoor patio for people to eat while beer tasting.

“Great Beer, Good Food!”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

The beer is obviously amazing! Great selection along with good food and ambience. Try out the new outdoor patio. Kid friendly menu. The only slightly tedious item is paying for your drinks separately from the food order. I've tried the burger-can't go wrong. The tacos are good and really liked the wedge salad. Little Italy is an awesome location with plenty of art galleries in the area and retail shops. Enjoy!

“beers you can love ( and hard stuff also)”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

After trying the Ballast Point Sculpin while on vacation last year we visited the brewery. We tasted all sorts of flights and liked/loved most of them. They have inside tasting bar, store items as well as an outdoor patio with tables and chairs. we also took the " real stuff" tasting. We tried the vodka, gin, white rum, dark rum as well as some private burbon. They do not sell the hard stuff there but sent us to places that do. We also bought some beer that was not out in the stores yet for private use. Nice folks but do not worry if you think you are in a factory area; the tasting room IS in the brewery ( you can get a tour if you want.

“Neat little brewery/distillery tucked away in Industrial Park”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

Don't be concerned when you find yourself driving in an industrial park on your way to the brewery. My wife and I began to think we were lost, but we turned a corner and there it was. Took advantage of their flights/tasters which were reasonably priced. There is very little seating which is both good and bad. We ended up sharing a table with two other couples because of the limited seating which turned into good conversation over good beer. Ballast Point has something for all beer tastes from great porters (Victory at Sea) to great IPAs (sculpin, dorado). The food truck that was there that day wasn't very good (was named Killer Tacos, they were not killer), but I won't deduct points for that because the food trucks swap in and out. We were just there on a bad day. We took the distillery "tour" which wasn't really a tour. The tour consisted of standing in a hallway looking through a window for about 3 minutes at a couple of stills and then going to a tasting room to taste the liquor. The liquor was good, the aged rum tasted like a decent scotch (not kidding, it's weird). Otherwise, the rest were okay, but overpriced (we did not get to taste the single malt or bourbon due to limited supply). If I was to do it again, I would skip the "tour" and stick to the beer.
