The night I visited it was a bit cloudy, but the area is just beautiful even without a true sunset. It's rocky so bring good shoes for climbing. Very nice

The small town of Ocean Beach has a long pier, tide pools, antique shops, and some "hippie" type vibes. Sunset Cliffs is farther south and has high cliffs above the ocean.. Very scenic and interesting.

The natural parks runs along the coast. The cliffs offer great views but while we were visiting it was not very family friendly. We enjoyed stopping in a few areas to photograph and explore briefly. Sadly, it did not feel like a safe area on the day we visited.

Enjoyed bicycling along the coast, climbing on the rocks, & photographing the pelicans flying in formation.
