“best place ever”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

this was the highlight of my trip, i recommend going with an experienced person because if your not used to cliffs climbing them isnt easy. the view is gorgeous and the weather is perfect. i dont recommmend bringing children because one wrong move and if not carefully watched can send them in the water or down the cliff. we went to two diff parts of the cliff. one had the best view and it was closer to the water but dont even think about diving in because its not safe. the second area was the steepest climb ever(you have to use a rope to get down ) but once at the bottom you can go swimming, its seems more like a surfers hangout than regular beach mongoers, but still an awesome place, i highly recommend going there before the sunset hits because its absolutely gorgeous.

“Glad we came”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

Maybe we should have came earlier (we rushed and made it 15-20 minutes before sunset time) to reserve a better spot, but we were still happy with what we saw and I was too scared to venture out with the steep ledges nearby already scary cliffs.

It was really beautiful and worth stopping by here before heading back to our hotel.

“Great place for a quick visit”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

My wife and I stopped here on our last night in San Diego. It's not much more than a pretty cliff area with a pretty view of the Pacific. However, the sunset we got to see was amazing and a relaxing experience.

“Tread with care”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

While there are nice views, be careful not to get too close to the edge of crumbly cliffs, people fall, sometimes are rescued, sometimes drown. There's a stairway down and a cave at low tide, beach and cave filled with water, dangerous at high tide, pay attention.

Don't park in parking lot after 10 pm. The local police patrol it often, will give you tickets, treat you like a criminal, search your vehicle with no probable cause, insulting even if you are older people, police generally rude and unprofessional in Ocean Beach area, at Sunset cliffs at night their behavior is not modified by other citizens being able to see and monitor their behavior(Scary for females.) Citizens are better behaved,
La Jolla , or other beaches, they are more professional. One frightening creepy encounter was enough to alert me not to sight see after dark, I go else where and other especially women will tell of such treatment.
Also remember cliffs are unstable, be careful near the edges and off the paths. And beach at the bottom is deep water at high tide,

“Simply Beautiful!”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

We arrived around sunset and found this place really beautiful. Cliffs spread along the coast. There are a few vista points where you can enjoy the sight of sunset with your loved one. Locals there are very friendly. It is a great place to enjoy the laid-back lifestyle in San Diego.
