We had a family reunion in San Diego recently. This meant I had to juggle three reservations and three families coming in from three different states. Staybridge Suites went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. They went above and beyond their duty when we had a misunderstanding. Everyone treated us wonderful. The rooms were perfect. We had plenty of room. There was plenty of parking. There are food and gas stations within walking distance. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to San Diego. It took about 15 min. to get to La Jolla Beach and about the same amount of time to get to Seaworld and downtown San Diego.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the vacuums will probably be loud. There are many vacuums going all day.

The suites we had was very nice. I was with my grandkids and they love it. Breakfast was good and rooms are clean. Highly recommended for a family. Staff are very polite. Poolside is ver clean. However we would like to stay again this August but the rates went up a lot. For price like that i could stay in a bettwr hotel.
Dont get me wrong i love staybridge but they have to compete also with value.

I wanted to love this place because like others say it is a hidden gem. The grounds are very nice and I felt the rooms where very nice. The rooms have a apartment style fridge a two burner electric range a dishwasher and utensils. No oven. Staff are very nice and try to accommodate .They have a small nice heated pool and a basketball court that our kids loved. They have two propane grills that are nicely covered to use ( we used them both days). The location is off the path and surrounded by nice trees. Costco, Claim Jumper are within walking distance. So are many other restaurants and shopping. It is centrally located.but here's where it fails. My friend has a 3 year old son who locked himself in the bathroom and couldn't open the door. They had no maintenance to help us. We where there Labor day and evidently maintenance gets weekends and holidays off or something. They didn't have anything to help us open the door. How is that possible?. I wanted to call the fire department but my friend borrowed a paper clip and was able to pop the lock open after an hour of trying. Their kid is learning impaired so it got harry for a while.. They ran out of Swim towels and we asked for new ones for over an hour they never came my wife had to go get them for us. That is one of the problems they seem understaffed. Breakfast was a disaster we had a whole hockey team 12 kids and breakfast is served till 930 but here's what they don't tell you. They shut of the waffle maker and stop cooking at 9 At 858 they had nothing but cereal and the funny part about that is they ran out of spoons. we have two kids on our team that have milk intolerance so now what fruit? No cause they ran out of that too lol.Lets recap on breakfast. No where to sit not enough seats. No meat,no fruit, no eggs,no hash browns, out of biscuits and gravy just a fricken train wreck at 858! You might have better luck then we did but for the hockey team and myself we will look to stay else where.

This hotel is relatively close to La Jolla, and MCAS Miramar about 15 minutes from each. The facility is very well kept, and up to date. The staff is friendly and attentive. The courtyard is clean and the pool is very clean, and crystal clear when I was there. The rooms are quite, beds are comfortable, and pillow are ok. They have a Social Mon.~Wed. for the guests which is pretty good. Also included is a breakfast buffet. Highly recommended, and I will stay here again on my next trip to the Sorrento Mesa area.

What I liked :
1. Loved the beautiful rustic feel of this place.
2. Room service is good
3. Great breakfast spread.
4. Evening socials was fun.

Things that could have been better:
1. Rooms are not a value for money. Should have been bigger.
2. Noisy neighbour. Gas station in the front will not let you sleep easily.
3. Hotel staff should be more courteous and friendly.
