Perhaps the reason this rundown hotel has such good reviews is that they offer a discount on your room rate if youpost a great review on TripAdvisor (a sign is actually posted in their lobby). Frankly, the rooms are tiny, with peeling paint and mold in the grout of the the shower. The room offered little in the way of standard amenities, even the air conditioner is an add-on which sits like a nightstand by the bed - and it created a huge puddle on the linoleum from condensation.
The location is at the end of a street which sports several bars and tattoo parlors. Lots of partying into the wee hours, so don't expect to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf. Oh, and bring lots of spare change with you, you'll need it for the street people and homeless who surround the hotel at all hours.
Now getting tattoos or partying all night appeals to many, as does getting a discount for posting a fake review, but if you're like me you may want to read the other 1 & 2 star reviews.
Why 2 stars? They do have a great beach location.More
