Location: We stayed here for our first Comic-Con. Super convenient. Walking distance to the Convention Centre (right across from the hotel). Also very close to all the restaurants, clubs and shopping. And a less than 10 mins ride from the airport!
Check In: We arrived a little before check in and was told our room wasn't ready, and they took in our lugguage until our room was ready (we headed over to Comic-Con). We came back shortly after check-in time and our room still wasn't ready. The front desk (before we were able to say anything) gave us a voucher for $20 each and told us to enjoy a drink at the New Leaf restaurant located in the lobby. AND, whatever we don't use, will be credited to our final bill. That's phenomenal customer service. We received a call around 6ish that our room was ready so we checked in.
The room: We had a king bed non-smoking room. This room was huge! Came fully appointed with coffee, tea, free internet, flat panel tv, phone, alarm clock, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap. There also was a desk, in-room safe and lounge chair. The bed was very comfortable.
Food: We didn't order any room service, however did eat at the New Leaf restaurant in the lobby a couple times. Service was very good, and the food was good too.
The little things: Since the train is located very close to the hotel, they had ear plugs (for free) incase the "urban" sounds were a distraction. The front desk was always friendly. The bell hop who helped us load our rental car. My other half picked up a bunch of collector items at Comic-Con and the guy(forgot his name) safely and respectfully helped us load the car with our lugguage and Comic-Con items. Last minute late checkout: we barely got any rest during Comic-con and needed a later check out which they gave us without hesitation or extra charge.
We would definitely stay here again.

The location of this lovely hotel puts it right over the top. It's 2 blocks from Petco Park, and right across from fun touristy shopping and SD sights.
Excellent breakfast buffet on Sunday.
We had a baby with us and the crib was all ready and made up, very nice.
Clean, friendly, quiet, all good!

The hotel is small, but it is very well located at the beginning at the Gaslamp and just in front of the Convention Center.
It is smaller than the Hilton Bayfront but better located, less crowdy, and staff and service is much better. Breakfast was included, and it was ok.

Loved the location of this hotel. That's about it.

The room us ok. But the trains run right next to the hotel all night blowing it's horn. When we checked in they didn't have any doubles so we politely asked for a roll away bed. We called 3 times since the first request and 3 hours later we still didn't have it.

Honestly, we pay so much, how hard is it to get a roll away bed when you couldn't accommodate our request for doubles. If I were paying less than $150 per night, this would not be a problem but it's not the case.

I just stayed at the Hilton Gaslamp in San Diego for business and had a wonderful experience. Great hotel in the Gaslamp District in San Diego. The room was perfect for business and we utilized the conference facilities for a seminar. Attentive staff and great AV people. We were walking distance from tons of great restaurants / bars like the Red Pearl, Analog, The Strip Club (steakhouse, I swear) and The Tipsy Crow. Great little bar and restaurant called New Leaf in the hotel as well. We checked in on Foursquare and got a great deal. We want to go again and walk over to a Padres game at Petco Park. Thanks to the staff for a great time.

Hilton Gaslamp is the only place I will stay when I'm in San Diego. Their staff, lobby and food makes me feel right at home! My favorite detail about this hotel is when I come back to the room there are earplugs waiting for me on the nightstand.

I ordered breakfast for the next morning and asked for it to be there around 6:30 and it was delivered right on the dot :) and the server was very friendly.

very nice rooms especially the loft on 5th street ,amzing jacuzzi rooms ,in the true heart of the gas lamp district dont bother renting a car everything is right there ,and if not you can take a tour bus and hop on and of all day wherever you want to go in san diego for 20 dollars .the only negative is front desk staff is slow and non cooperative at times.no parking valet is 35 a day but you really dont need a car here.beware of ordering any kind of steaks from room service there is a donovans steak house across the street .plenty of restaurants of all price ranges in area avoid room service .grocery store also acroos the street.

Room Tip: for the price get a loft on 5th ave. truly cant go wrong especially if facing the hard rock hotel.
