Gald you enjoyed your stay. We did go up and down the street reminding folks you are sleeping and asking them all to be quiet. Apparently they cooperated . (well it could have happened) . . All kidding aside ,we appreciate the love. We hope to see you again

We stayed at the Ramada gaslamp for one sleepless night. Upon our arrival after check in we shlepped the luggage dolly ourselves to the quaint but difficult to manage lift. The staff literally stood around and watched. My husband was working put the parking specs. I had my two kids and multiple pieces of luggage to manage. The room was tiny outdated and filthy! I have stayed in small old hotels in Paris and this was nothing like that! This hotel needs to be seriously updated and the staff needs a course on costumer service. I hate to say this,

but this hotel also had a roach

issue. We saw just one and it was
downstairs in the hallway....but it
was one to many. I could go
on..there is noise issues..oh and
drunk young people eating take out on the floor of the lobby..we got out of there!

Dear Guest. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. The bellmen should have been helping you with your luggage and we should have upgraded you to one of our family suites so you would have been more comfortable. We apologize for your let down. Brian's 24 restaurant is open 7/24 , so late night revelers can appear on the scene. When it rains there are water bugs downtown, they're are hamless but not too much fun to look at . Once again we apologize for letting you down.

Very well located, staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms may be a little small especially by american standards, but you must remember this is an old hotel and situated right in the centre, and there was plenty of room for us. "Brians" next door does the most amazing breakfasts, obvious by the way it was packed every morning.

Dear Guest, We are glad you enjoyed your stay. You're right, we are an historic hotel with smaller than aveage rooms in one of the best locations downtown. We have one of the best informal restaurants downtown Brian's 24. We do have larger rooms (suites) and our famous double/double rooms ,two bedrooms, two TV's one bathroom. Great for sharing. We hope to see you again some time soom.

After staying in luxury at Treasure Island in Vegas, the room at Ramada Inn San Diego was a bit of a reality check, but then this is not a fair comparison. If you want a reasonably priced and comfortable hotel room in the Gaslamp district in San Diego then this is the one to go for. We did quite a bit of research before booking and were not disappointed. The hotel and rooms are a bit quirky but that just reflects the age and history of the hotel and add's to it's charm. The roof-top patio area is brilliant and well worth a wander up to the 10th floor - take your camera. Then you are in the perfect location in the district right next to the main strip on 5th Avenue with all the restaurants and bars. We also used the valet service for parking and this represents good value for the area.

Good hotel, Great location, good value for the area.

Dear Guest, Thank's for the review. You hit the nail on the head. We are the best hotel value in the best area downtown. Did you know when guest's are making a hotel selection the top 3 considerations are Convenience, Comfort and Value. It's been that way since the Roman soldiers started marking x's outside of Inn's to advise other's of what to expect. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again in America's Finest City.

We stayed at this Ramada on our way across the border to Real del Mar, south of Tijuana. The location is great - just a block away from the Gaslamp District. It's an older hotel so the rooms are a bit smaller than what we were expecting. The restaurant right there at the hotel is open 24/7 and it was always packed. I was told it's a favorite with the locals. The best part of this hotel, though, is the roof-top terrace. You get a 360 degree view of San Diego including Petco Park, Mission Bay, the Coronado Bay Bridge. We had cocktails up there one night and coffee and biscotti the next morning.

We stayed at this lovely hotel that had a very historical look about it. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Small rooms but our teen daughters loved it since they had a separate room that was attached to ours. The Malls, Petco Park and Restaurants were very close and in walking distant. The best part of the hotel is the roof top with tables, chairs and you can view the whole city... AMAZING View!
The staff was friendly & Valet quick.
Parking was only $20.00 a night .. Great price since most hotels range from $35-40 a night.
The house keeper forgot to clean our room but sometimes those things happen.:)
( no we did not have the DND sign out) We did get fresh towels etc
- The only aggravating thing was the Elevator with the gate. A pain to get your luggage up and into because you have to hold the gate to get in. (If your double jointed or a contortionist it works out well) I just used the kids to hold it open... they worked well too!
This hotel would be great for couples & singles but not the elderly.
I personally will stay there again. I really liked it!!!

Dear Guest, Thank you for the kind words about the Ramada St James. We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us . Those "double, double" rooms are our most popular. Two seperate bedrooms, two televisions , one bathroom. Great for sharing. Yes the elevators are a chore. If we could replace them we would . You are right our parking rates are among the least expensive downtown, they just cover our garage fees. Once again we're glad you enjoyed your stay in America's Finest City and we hope to see you again .

Dear Guest, We are so glad you found us and enjoyed your stay in America's Finest City. It is nice not to need a car, hunt for parking and have to watch out for all those one way streets. Our downtown is only about 20 square blocks so you're right every thing downtown has to offer (including our beautiful waterfront convention center) is just minutes way from the hotel. Thank you for visiting our great city. We hope you return soon.
