I've stayed here twice so far. The staff are outstanding! Courteous and professional. They accommodated our party extremely well with 2 beautiful rooms - one suite and one regular (albeit lovely) room. The location is perfect, walking distance to the harbor as well as downtown gas lamp area. Next door to an outdoor shopping mall in case you forgot to bring anything. My favorite San Diego hotel at a fantastic price!

We were celebrating our birthdays my childhood friend and I and decided on San Diego which was recommended by our agent, T. Weir of The Travelsmiths in Pt. Pleasant, NJ. She suggested the Westin Gaslamp where we could get around easily. This is a beautiful hotel with a circular grand entrance. We checked with the desk clerk to make sure we had a special room as we were birthday girls. Our luggage was bought up to our perfect room with a view of the city when a knock came at the door and a bottle of champagne a gift from the hotel. We went to see the Concierge, Catherine Bouvier, asking her to try to get us in to Bertrand at Mr. A's and The Top of the Fish Market. The dinner at the Top of the Market was great. Mr. A's was spectacular with a view of the city and airport. Dinner was amazing. These are must go to restaurants. Catherine did everything to make it so very special.

Room Tip: Room with a view of the city and circular entrance

Enjoyed my stay at the Westin. It is at a great location, right next to a shopping center and the Gaslamp. Easy walk to many great restaurants and bars. It is also an easy walk to the harbor and Little Italy. Rooms are comfortable, clean and quite. Best of all the staff at the Westin was helpful and friendly. The Concierge gave me great recommendations on where to eat.

This hotel is the best! It is architecturally beautiful - maybe it is a feng shui thing, but the lobby has the best vibe of ANY hotel that I have stayed. The front desk team member, Gabriel, was very professional and took the time to assist me with a late check-out arrangement. This was a welcome gesture to a business traveler that had endured a delayed flight from Phoenix.

Room Tip: the rooms are all outstanding. The size of the room is generous, and the bathroom space is generous...

On Saturday, Nov. 23rd we celebrated our wedding anniversary by staying at The Westin San Diego Gaslamp quarter. We were upgraded to the end room on the 15th floor. Our room overlooked San Diego, the Coronado Bay Bridge and the Bay on one side. The other window and balcony overlooked downtown San Diego. A complimentary bottle of wine was brought to our room shortly after we arrived in our room. The room was spotless and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the Gaslamp district as well as the waterfront. We would recommend staying there.

My recent stay at the San Diego Gaslamp property offered the look of obvious modern upscale design, and it was well worth the price, for the king bed room. What I found, which was lacking, was in the way that they do not provide the modern convenience of free wifi access throughout the property, which is something that is a no cost amenity at much lower end hospitality chains. It was very inconvenient to have to go down to the lobby area, where they do make free wifi available, on your wifi enabled devices. Another negative consideration was the fees you'll pay for valet parking, which charges by the day but does not pro rate the charges. You are paying for a full day, for staying one minute past the day(s) you pay for. Sorry, but I can only give them an overall rating of 3 out of 5.

Room Tip: The king bed room offered a very generous sized space. I also found that the personal touches offer...

TRAEPHOTO, I am glad you enjoyed our new design. We have gone through a 25M renovation just last year and our upscale, modern design as you said is really being praised by our guests. We also have upgraded our in room internet bandwith to 100MB which other hotels do not offer as much. As you have noticed, we also offer free internet in our lobby area. Our various optional offerings are based on our guest feedback and I hope you understand it as well.
Thanks again for an opportunity to serve you and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Sincerely,

Charles Cho

Spent this past weekend here for an anniversary. I made a last minute reservation and noted that it was our anniversary. Emilie, at the front desk, actually noted our occasion with a congrats and upgraded our room!!!! I didn't even have to ask... the room was awesome with a great view of the skating rink. If that was not already enough, when we came back after doing some sight seeing around the area (first time to the Gaslamp District), we came back to a nice note and chilled champagne---wow..... talk about going above and beyond! We walked around the entire area, from Seaport Village to Little Italy to up and down 4th/5th & 6th street.... Westin is, by far, the BEST located hotel in the area. We were able to walk to all the above mentioned places. Panera is a hop and skip across for a quick breakfast and Starbucks/Jamba Juice right next to the hotel. Horton Plaza is also attached to the hotel or next to it... I didn't go there, but could have very easily. Beyond the pampering by the hotel... the location and service were awesome..... highly recommended. We have already committed to come here every year for our anniversary!

Wow! It sounds like you had an absolutely wonderful time and made some great memories. I was so pleased to know that Emelie helped make your experience one of surprise and delight. And needless to say, I am very happy to know you plan on returning every year as you celebrate another anniversary.
