My buddy and I came allllll the way to San Diego from...El Cajon & Ramona. Hah! That's only a few miles from San Diego, nothing exotic. A treat none te less to play tourist in our own town and the Holiday Inn San Diego - Bayside was the perfect place for our little sojourn.

We stayed in one of the taller bldgs on the 4th floor. Room was refurbished very nicely. Great beds, multiple pillows with soft, firm, etc. Bed were comfortable. Room was nicely decorated and a decent view of the city. Could alllmost see the bay from our room.

Bring hair conditioner. There were the usual toiletries available (soap, shampoo, body lotion, shower cap), but no conditioner. Not a big deal.

The food at the restaurant was excellent. Service great. Parking free.

We had a great rest and fun time.

We don't typically stay in Holiday Inn's but we were in San Diego for the America's Finest City half marathon, and the host hotel was sold out.

The pros of this hotel was that we got vouchers for breakfast, both days of our stay. We were expecting a poorly done continental breakfast, but it was a full fledged restaurant, with a great breakfast menu, and our kids (age 2 and 4) ate free. A pleasant surprise!

Also, they showed a movie for families next to the pool area on Saturday night. We watched with our little ones, and it was fun! The pool area was really nice, and my children liked it.

Last, parking was free, and the "Bottle Shop" on the main level had very reasonable prices on things like milk and soda. I was expecting high prices, and was pleasantly suprised that it was the same price as a grocery store.

Dear Past Guest,

Thanks for the nice review! It's always nice to hear your expectations were exceeded! Glad your kids enjoyed the 'Kids Eat Free' and the poolside movie. Congrats on doing the Half Marathon!!! Hope you did really well. It's a great city to do a half marathon. I hope you and your family will consider staying with us again next year if you participate in the AFC Half Marathon again.

Attending a class held at the hotel. Extremely convenient. Desk, housekeeping, maintenance and restaurant staff have all been very nice. Have frequently ordered room service, food is very good and served hot and in a timely manner.

Stayed here with my wife on our last trip before our baby is born. Very nice room, very clean, large king size bed. Not a fan of exterior doors. Easy in/out on the streets. Free airport shuttle.

We were there 5 nights. On day 2, a "gang" of 10 guys in their early 20's booked their room directly above us and it sounded like it was a WWE wrestling match from 6am, all day and all through the night until around 5am. So, needless to say, Out of 5 nights, I slept for 1. This is not a spring break-type hotel either so they were a bit out of place. They would sleep for an hour and then start up again. Finally got our room switched to the "Tower" where things were a bit better and there were interior doors. Staff was average. Did nothing to quiet them down or kick them out.

Definitely nice to have a lounge and restaurant on site. Nicely priced drinks. Outgoing bar staff. Nice restaurants across the street near the marina.

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Bayside. The rooms were spacious and clean. Loved having the fridge in the room. They went out of their way to get our rooms close together. Free parking and internet was awesome. It was also very convenient to all the fun things to do in San Diego. And, they have the best cinnamon rolls around.

Stayed at this hotel for a week for a conference with work. Was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. My room had been remodeled (my colleague was in a room that didn't seem to have been redone yet) and was comfortable and even somewhat stylish. The balcony was a great addition to the room - my view was of the city, but I still used the balcony everyday. Bed was quite comfortable, service was good (with one exception, but it was fixed quickly), fitness facilities were adequate (though stocked with older equipment), location was FANTASTIC. My only compliant was that the internet service was slow during non-peak hours and even slower during peak hours. Overall, I had a very nice stay.
