Was slightly disappointed after reading so many good reviews. Food was very good, but. . .restaurant itself does not feel like a special occasion (small, minimal, etc.), food came out 2 minutes after appetizer, no full bar, no dessert.

My wife and I ate at the Escape Fish Bar the other night. We like everthing about the place. It's small and casual with a very friendly staff. Great seafood with wonderful flavors. For the money it's well worth it. They know their seafood which comes from anywhere on the Pacific Coast. Nice glasses of wine at a reasonable price. We will go again.

This restaurant is tiny and if it hadn't been for the reviews we would have walked straight passed it. We sat outside and decided to start with one of the specials (blue crab cakes) which were very good. Generous portion size (there was more crab than cake) and served with delicious pickled carrots and cucumber. For the main course, my husband ordered the Cajun Salmon after being told they were out of yellow-tail. The portion size was again good but the cajun flavour was lacking. It's a shame because the salmon itself was very fresh. The fish was served with rice and more of the same pickled veg. I ordered the fish tacones with salmon, which were very good. The side of roasted pumpkin seed slaw was different but made for a healthier alternative. All in all it was a good meal but nothing spectacular for the price - maybe we were unlucky with some of our choices. We probably won't be rushing back.
