A couple girlfriends and I were downtown Friday night and we decided to get drinks here. Best idea ever! We didn't have reservations so it took an hour for us to get a table. (We didn't really mind since it was girls night). The drinks were good (cocktails and beer on tap), the crowd was good looking and the place was interestingly decorated. To top it off, the food was delicious and our waitress was super nice and attentive. I went out of a limb and tried one of their cocktails (Campari and vermouth) and our waitress was super sweet and let me know that the drink is refreshing but somewhat of an acquired taste. She was right, not my kind of drink but she made me a different cocktail off menu that was a pleasant surprise! Interesting place, we will be back here again!

First time here & will definitely return. Fried Chicken and corn waffles......delicious. Bloody Mary with Tequila. Not your average Bloody Mary, very unique. Great decor, Prohibition theme. Great service, very attentive. Indoor and outdoor seating, pleasant surroundings. Guests seemed to be enjoying their beverages. The punchbowl looks cool.

We love Craft & Commerce and have been there several times to dine or to just have drinks. It is our favorite gastropub in San Diego.

First the decor is fantastic. The combination of industrial steel, brick and wood sounds overly masculine, but it is a space that appeals to all. The juxtaposed themes of craft and commerce are woven into the design, from credit card font on the bar fronts to hand painted text on the banquettes. The details really shine and give you an inkling of the attention to detail on the drinks and food.

The drinks are the start of the place, although the food is quite good. They have several named drinks on the menu, but you can order whatever you please or just give the bartender a base liquor and a flavor profile and let them create something unique. Their selection of beer based cocktails is worth trying. The "IPA Cocktail" used Stone IPA from Escondido and is really complex. Their "Paloma" is taken to the next level with chile infused reposado and is one of our favorite tequila based drinks. Bourbon and rye are definitely well represented here and can be in something as classic as an "Old Fashioned" or made into one of their signature drinks.

Food at C&C is limited but well executed. Sharing is the way to go and fried pickles, cracker jacks w bacon, burata salad, etc. are all very good. They do offer brunch on Saturday and Sunday which includes chicken and waffles (which is great) and a nice light cured salmon w duck eggs and greens.

One thing that really shines is the staff. Sometime one can run into attitude and aloof hipsterism at places like this. We have consistently found the staff to be genuinely service oriented and gracious. Even the bartenders are reasonably friendly, while maintain a hipster look.

C&C gets very busy, but it is worth the wait. By the way, if you are there for drinks, be aware that the tables are for dining guests. Therefore, if the place is packed, you may want to choose to eat and drink.

The punch bowls were AWESOME! I love how they give us little tea cups to drink out of! Also, if you're wondering if the animals are real, they are! These animals are all over the place. Kinda cool yet creepy at the same time.

I am so mad that we didn't eat here. I have been reading about this place and decided to check it out before going to lunch elsewhere. After seeing the menu and and smelling and seeing other people eating yummy looking food I am totally coming back to eat here! They have both indoor and outdoor areas with a funky, fun decor. The bartenders are TRUE mixologists, not just regular bartenders. The drink menu has a great selection of both beers and cocktails and the bartenders can make you all sorts of cool random drinks. I cant remember the name, but if you like spicy drinks try the jalapeno one that's on the menu, yum!!!
