Sushi and sashimi were good but overpriced. The waitress acted like I was stupid when I asked a question about the menu.

“Excellent speciality rolls in San Diego”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

If you like speciality rolls, cocktails and a great atmosphere, Azuki Sushi Lounge is a safe bet. We arrived on a friend's recommendation, high expectations and were not disappointed. Sharing a few appetizers and four rolls (r u kidding me?, super dragon, sunshine and by the border) with a bottle of white wine was more than plenty for our party of four. The only downside is that the prices were a bit above average.

“Some of the best sushi. Period.”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Really enjoyed an early dinner at Azuki after a full day at the San Diego Zoo. The Miso Blackened Cod appetizer melted in your mouth. Best ever spicy tuna roll that was soooo flavorful, and On the Border roll had a nice spice. Back patio is serene and service was very good. An excellent experience.

“Best Sushi in San Diego!!!!!”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

I eat here at least once or twice a month and find the sushi, sashimi and Japanese cuisine to be the best in San Diego. Parking can be a bit difficult in this Banker´s Hill location. I would also recommend making a reservation at the sushi bar and put yourself in the hands of the very capable sushi chefs (who are Japanese). Also check out the chalk board for daily specials flown in from Japan such as the highest grade of belly tuna which melts in your mouth. One dish to always try is a fresh oyster on the half shell served with caviar and uni and is the utmost in decadence. They also have fresh Pacific oysters on the half shell. The dungeness crab soup with clams is very tasty and filling. All of the fish is of the highest quality. Even the cooked dishes such as the unagi or the spider roll are made to perfection. They do not serve liquors but have an excellent selection of sakes, sushi friendly wines from Alsace and beers. In addition, they have shochu, the sweet potato spirit to sip on after or during the meal. Remember to reserve the sushi bar or front room as the back room is not as fun or part of the experience. The service is fantastic. This is so much better than Hane Sushi up the street!!!! I will return as often as possible to this sushi and sashimi heaven in Banker´s Hill. One note is perfection such as this does not come cheap.
