Looking for any food product or memorabilia from Britain? You'll probably find it here. Quaint is an accurate description. The Shoppe serves afternoon tea in the British tradition. Rave reviews all around! Plan to spend a half hour or more just looking at the labels and souvenirs and tea will take at least that long. The tea choices are British, not just Lipton's, so be prepared for a new experience.

I love going to Shakespeares Corner Shoppe & Afternoon Tea! This is a great place to go with your girlfriends! Shakespeares has a huge selection of teas to choose from and you won't walk away hungry. Each person gets their own teapot that is kept constantly warm and filled. The pots and cups and saucers and the tables are so pretty! Be sure to arrive with an appetite as there is a huge selection of finger foods to eat as part of the tea. There are both savory and sweet and warm items as well as finger sandwiches that are displayed beautifully on a stand at your table. The service is attentive and polite. Tea is served on a covered outside patio, which is fine here in San Diego, although I usually have tea here in the early summer so I'm not sure what the experience is like when it's cold. There is also a cool little store attached to the tea house that sells all kinds of English items. Parking can be an issue so give yourself time to find it. Treat yourself and have tea here - you won't be disappointed!

What a place to find. I am British living in the USA so this was a great little nostalgic visit - products are pricey but if you fancy some tinned foods from home then it's all here - Heinz Beans, even tinned haggis. I didn't have afternoon tea but saw the makings and the china laid out for one and it looked genuine (the owner is English after all!!) Worth a visit if you are a Brit travelling abroad and need a little reminder of home. The pub attached is good too!

Get your Cornish Pasties! Get your Wine Gums! Get your typical British items here, along with little trinkets. Many things are common between America and Britain, but this shoppe carries the items that a lonely ex-pat just can't get here. Kind of fun for Americans too, getting little candy and other items you might have to travel to experience otherwise.

Worth a stop after lunch.

We had a private Party here in the back room and our server (One) server for 20 ladies was horrible. She spits when she talks and has no idea how to take care of people.
We were very disappointed and expressed this to management with no compensation.
Our check was over 500 dollars and they ran out of food items and seemed to just slam things together to make it work.
NOT worth the money.
It is however good for 2-3 people just for tea service but you have to put up with bees and flies since you are outside. It was surprising there were flies since we are in San Diego.
Disappointed Group
