Where else would I go to eat?
Operacaffe is excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a tastebud for Italian food. It exceeds the next Italian restaurant by leaps and bounds. The dining area is beautiful and the service is spectacular. You could go get some food, or you could go get a meal from heaven...go to Operacaffe.

My last night in San Diego and I went to the Operacafe with some friends. The food was great! Really tasty and well presented. The menu had plenty of choices for all tastes as well as a good wine list. Recommended.

There are many restaurant choices in the Gaslamp district, and we were fortunate to pick this place. "The owner cooks herself" we were told by the receptionist, and that convinced us. The decor is simple, brick walls, a huge mirror, unassuming furniture, all creating a turn-of-the-century athmosphere. Cooking is done up front. We were treated to real Tuscan cuisine: My wife and I enjoyed the fettuccine with mushrooms, others on the table praised the lobster ravioli and the rigatoni with eggplant. Everything was tasty and fresh. The prices were reasonable. The service attentive and efficient. What a treat. This place is a real gem.

The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. The owner was very helpful in explaining unknown dishes. And they were as he described.
