“Great Tour!”
Reviewed July 16, 2012 via mobile

If you want to have a fun time and learn about La Jolla, Torrey Pines and a bit about downtown San Diego then take this tour. Tim is friendly, knowledgable and helpful. He also made some great recommendations for our short lunch stop. We were scheduled for five hours but things were taking longer than expected, probably because of some slower customers. Tim didn't rush us and we returned after about 6 hours. If you are driving into downtown and want to avoid the $18 parking charge near Sante Fe Train Depot, you can park for free at the Old Town Transit Center and take a 10 minute trolley ride to Santa Fe Depot. It is $5/person for an all day MTA pass.

I appreciate the wonderful feedback. As an fyi, for guests who wonder if they will be back in time for evening events, dinner reservations, or flights, the answer is Yes. Don't hesitate to let me know at the beginning of the tour if you need to be back in downtown San Diego no later than 5PM and I'll make sure that is the case. Occasionally, we'll run longer (generally not more than 15 minutes) if we have a particularly beautiful day and people want to take lots of pictures. As the tour progresses and it looks like we could run a bit long, I'll double check with guests so I know how much leeway I have to allow guests to enjoy the spectacular setting in La Jolla and return us downtown on a timely basis. I look forward to your visit. - Tim

“Tour Guide Tim - La Jolla & Torrey Pines”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

Tour Guide Tim is a young man who is extremely well-organized, punctual and accommodating. A day before our tour, I found out that I had a business meeting that would interfere with the time of our original tour. A quick email to Tim and he graciously allowed us to schedule our tour for the following day.

Tim was a knowledgeable tour guide...a resident of California, after life-altering heart surgery, Tim decided that he wanted to move out of his current business in Finance, into the world of touring. He decided he really wanted to own his own tour company. He's done just that! His tours are friendly, entertaining, flexible, well-researched, and informative. The small bus from whence he conducts his tours is very comfortable. His groups are fairly small...anywhere from 2 to 12. Tim offers to take pictures and accommodates most requests. He definitely knows San Diego! It is obvious that he is a historian, with his well-researched information.

I was very pleased with this tour! We had a wonderful time and learned a tremendous amount about La Jolla & Torrey Pines. We did a good deal of walking in La Jolla, which was quite pleasant with the temperatures in the 70s. We saw beautiful scenery and learned about the history of each area. I would highly recommend Tour Guide Tim!

“Tour Guide Tim's Coastal San Diego Sightseeing Tour”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Lisa & Rick Laferriere say:

The highlight of our recent trip to San Diego was sightseeing with Tour Guide Tim's Coastal San Diego Tour. We wanted to see all the beautiful vistas in the area and there is no easy way for tourists to get to these amazing locations. We wanted to go with someone who would take care of driving, directions, and give us information. Tim provides an expertly guided 5-hour tour of San Diego's beautiful coastline, Mount Soledad and its unique war memorial, Torrey Pines Golf Course and Gliderport, and La Jolla. Be sure not to miss this tour. It is top-notch and raises the bar for sightseeing tours.

We arranged our tour with Tim before leaving Canada which worked out super. We knew this was going to be a great tour since Tim is so pleasant, courteous and personable. Tim promptly met us for the tour with a small comfortable charter bus complete with a pleasant, excellent driver. On the tour, we found out how much Tim knows about the area. He has such a warm, friendly, professional manner and provides a comfortable personalized approach to the tour. You feel like you've known him for years. He allows sufficient time to take pictures and will also take your pictures in front of the beautiful sights.

Although there were only a group of five of us on the bus, Tim provided a full tour as he would for a full bus. Three of the group was a family who decided to have lunch and some free time to explore La Jolla arranging to meet us back at the bus. We opted for the walking tour with Tim which left him as our own personal guide for the two of us. It was like being with a friend who was very proud showing us the area. We walked through the lovely village of La Jolla where Tim knows a lot of people. We worked our way down to the coastline and walked along it. We saw the beautieful ocean views, caves, beaches, and various varieties of marine life. At the end of the tour, Tim took us all back to our hotels in the bus.

Thanks so much Tim for our memorable experience. We strongly recommend anyone to take Tim's tour or you will really miss out on an experience of a lifetime.

“The best way to see the La Jolla area”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

It is os much easier to take a tour to see a vacation area than it is to try to drive and look. Tim is an excellent tour guide, very pleasant and courteous. He provides extensive, detailed knowledge of the area. The price is very reasonable for a 5+ hour tour. We definitely recommend this tour to anyone. Our niece, who lives in San Diego, also took the tour with us and remarked that she learned a great deal as well.

“Must Do Tour for a First Trip to San Diego”
Reviewed June 6, 2012

My best friend from college and I try to vacation together every 2-3 years. Our most recent vacation was to San Diego and the first day we were scheduled to go on this tour with Tim. Not only did we get to see an incredible variety of sites (scenic views, local nature and wildlife, shopping/eating venues, historic areas, multi-million dollar homes, and more) in only 5 hours, Tim was the most incredible tour guide. He had more knowledge of the area than I would have thought possible and was fun to listen to with entertaining stories and some good jokes. It was never boring! Starting our trip with the tour helped us decide what parts of San Diego we wanted to focus on seeing/experiencing during the rest of our trip. You can't go wrong taking this tour!
