I took my wife out for our 1st wedding anniversary with Sail San Diego and they exceeded our expectations. There were seven of us and our captain was GW. He gave us a tour of the Cabrillo coast and took us out into open water to look for whales. Sightings were minimal in the past weeks and that was not changed on this visit, but we saw plenty of dolphins and seals. Captain G has plenty of experience and handled the trip very well. Everything was very laid back and we even got to steer for a bit. Great boats, great staff, and a beautiful area makes for a memorable trip. Thanks!

This was my first time sailing with a group in a boat of this size. There were 3 of us, 4 in the other party plus Captain Mike. First, they explain the boat, galley and what to expect. They had drinks, all types including alcohol and snacks. We slowly moved from the dock while Captain Mike told us about our surroundings. Next think I knew we were sailing along the ocean past the lighthouse and along Coronado. We weren't there during whale watching season but it was a fantastic trip. The sun was coming down just as we returned and Captain Mike just let us slowly move inland to view the sites. I know he worked hard but made is so easy and a smooth trip while answering a ton of questions. We are going back in July 2013 and will make sure this is on this list.

Sail San Diego delivered a great day outing. We were late in the migration season, but Captain Mike Tolda delivered a great day sailing, conversation, and found us a whale. To share this in a small group of friendly people was an experience not to be topped. Beautiful day outing.

My boyfriend had to work one day out of our trip during our stay in San Diego, so my girlfriend and I booked a whale watching sailboat cruise through the hotel we were staying at. We had no idea what we were getting into. When we came aboard the sailboat we were to go out on, Mike, our Captain, took over and made us feel completely comfortable with the safety procedures with a sense of humor that even though we didn't see any whales, made the whole trip an educational experience showing his expertise of the sea, the harbor, and any questions
asked, he could answer. There were six of us, and though we had never met, we all enjoyed one another, and Mike seemed to have the knack of putting us all together and making it a great adventure. Can not wait to go back. Thank you for that adventure Captain Mike

We had one of the most pleasant experiences of our travels when we sailed with Capt. GW out to the open waters. We enjoyed the sail even though we did not see any whales, only dolphins, seals and sea lions, as we were late in the migration season. Capt. GW was very knowledgable about the harbour and all the activities on shore and in the water, and willingly shared that knowledge with us in terms we could understand. Being land lubbers from the Canadian Priaries, sailing was exciting. We come to San Diego once a year and we will take the whale watching tour with Sail San Diego again. Hopefully, with better luck, we will see breaching whales.
