I had driven past this small restaurant on Cass many times without noticing it. Then a friend from out of town invited us to go there one night. She had found it and raved about it (she lives in Chicago, a foodie city, so I was surprised at her enthusiasm). I was amazed. We've now returned a half-dozen times. It has become our favorite restaurant in San Diego, at any price range. The quality of ingredients is outstanding. The dishes are interesting and original, but the chef, Franco, uses restraint (none of the trendy but bizarre combinations of cuisines that some chefs indulge in in an effort to be distinctive). The burratas are wonderful, and a meal in themselves. The daily specials are great. Service is promp, informative, and friendly without being intrusive or effusive. Not surprisingly, this restaurant is packed every night of the week, so make reservations or go early. It's an unexpected delight to find such a great restaurant in San Diego.
