Great spot for an afternoon, picnic, watching the sunset, strolling around, people watching, just hanging out. Family friendly, romantic, and San Diego weather is usually nice.

Shelter Island A Gem!
Great little community!
Ride bikes, take a walk and look at all the shops, restaurants, ocean, sail San Diego , B & B Yacht, Humphreys Inn room 114 gorgeous or Sunday Champagne Brunch with a marina view simply amazing! Walk the pier, on the pier you can rent fishing poles & fish, or rent kayak's and tour the marina, Ocean, see Sea lions hear Sea Lions, have an amazing time on Shelter Island. Even an area for dogs, sandy beach area, grassy area, fly a kite, read a book, take in the sounds & breezes of the ocean, at the end of the pier, grab a burger and a cold drink, meet some friendly people! Take a drive to the Tide Pools, bring water shoes, camera, H20 and sunscreen and have a wonderful time! You will fall in love with Shelter Island, We sure did and we have made this our Wedding Anniversary getaway!!! Try the Mexican restaurant on the corner, it's a two story on the corner before heading into shelter Island ! Amazing food & incredible service!
Check out yachts, Zoo & Sea World. Plenty to do from couples, family getaway , business trips, no matter what your visit is, you will be glad you visited this charming area. FYI, we do NOT recommend eating at Blue Wave, bar ok just don't dine here we have given this restaurant 3 tries the last time we had food poisoning and cut our stay short.
Enjoy Shelter Island and all the charm it has to offer!!

These islands, close to the airport, offer a welcome break from the hubbub of the city, and each has a nice walkway on the waterside so you can stretch your legs, enjoy the views and clear your head.

If you're visiting San Diego don't miss Harbor and Shelter Island. Park and take a nice walk. There are fine pedestrian walkways. The views looking back towards the city are wonderful.
