Spent one night here. First time in San Diego. Easy to find, good location. Nice room even if king size beds are not guaranteed. That is what happened to us. Check in was not particularly hearty. Strange to have rooms with just one queen; there is space enough for a king. We booked the AAA- rate that includes valet parking. Good deal.
Later in the evening we had to deal with a little problem: our neighbours were making a lot of noise.
Deskmanager gave us another room: smaller but quiet. Thank you.
Breakfast is very busy but good choice for a complimentary service.

Stayed here for the second time on a business trip. The hotel staff is wonderful to work with. The rooms are more than I need. A mini kitchen with a full size fridge. The room even comes with a dish washer. Hotel is only two blocks from the convention center and close to most anything you would want to eat. The baseball park is only about five blocks away. Airport is ten minutes away. This will be my hotel of choice when I return to San Diego.

Room Tip: Hotel fill up on Friday and Saturday nights. A lot of people from Arizona come and spend the weekend...

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the convention center and every restaurant and bar in the gaslamp district.

Every single staff member we ran into or helped us was very friendly and helpful (bellboy, receptionist, cleaning lady, handman, bartender, etc). Trully exceptional.

The layout of the room was a bit odd. It appears to me that they placed the door to the bathroom (frosted glass door) right next to the bed to make room for the kitchennette and sitting room area of the suite. A little inconvenient late at night, but no big deal.

Highly recommend and I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for four nights whilst in San Diego. It was a brilliant location right in the heart of the gaslamp quarter and just across the road from the Padres Basball stadium. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the rooms we very functional as they offered comfort and also the ability to prepare your own meals if you got sick and tired of eating out in one of the many magnificent restaurants on 5th avenue. Also the inclusive breakfast was very handy with plenty of choices. Overall would highly recommend.

We just spent 6 nights at the Residence Inn Gaslamp in San Diego, We would highly recommend this hotel as a very good location for someone attending a convention (like we did) in San Diego. It is walking distance to just about anywhere in the Gaslamp district, which is a fun and active place to stay. We did read several reviews that mention the odd bathroom situation and we experienced it. The sink is actually out side the bathing/toilet area and the sliding door to the bathing/toilet area has a frosted class window. Here is the problem if one of you is getting up early it is going to be hard for the other person to sleep. We stayed in a corner room it was not spacious but the room was large enough for just the 2 of us.We were on the 10th floor and there were no noise issues and the view was nice. The customer service was excellent at all levels. The breakfast was ample. We would stay here again, but we would try to find a room with a different layout (if there are any).

It literally took us 3 minutes to check in~the front staff was on it!!! Which was perfect because we had been traveling for 10 hours and we were more than ready to be in our room.
We stayed on Marriot points and were given a king studio on the 8th floor. It was just my husband and I and the room was great. I did pull out the sofa bed to see if there was ample space if we wanted to bring our kids back next time and it was a bit cramped but I am sure we would just book a 1 bedroom.
The breakfast that was included the next morning was so so good! Lots of different options then what we normally see at breakfast buffets that are included in your room rates. Everything at this hotel was very clean and modern.
We will definetly stay here again.

Location is great, close to restaurants, bars and shopping. Front desk staff very accommodating. Checked in late and looking for a place to have dinner, they recommended very nice restaurant next door and gave me a gift card to use. Hotel rooms were clean, suite was large and very bright. Roof top pool was nice but didn't get any sun when I checked it out around lunch time. Breakfast was nice. Asked for late check out and was able to stay in room until 2 which was very much appreciated.
