I stayed here once about 7 years ago. It has improved greatly since then. The office person (Justin) was friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the only room with a full kitchen, unit 1. The kitchen is barley stocked, but we made do. This is not a luxurious place to stay, but quite comfortable. You can't beat the price for the location. And when we are in San Diego, we spend more time outside than in the hotel.

We were looking for one night and although the front of house person was friendly the 'recently renovated' suite we got was old, tired and dirty! We were shocked and wondered what it could have been like before it was renovated! the toilet seat was broken, paper was peeling off the walls and the sofa bed was so lumpy that it was almost impossible to sleep!
Wish we had gone someplace else!

Room Tip: We were given a recently renovated suite and it was terrible! Don't stay here!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the end of June and were very pleased with Oliver (one of the new owners). He provided us an upgraded room with more space and fine views when we had concerns with our first booked room. This quaint small motel is perfectly located with world class views of the ocean and Crystal Pier, and of course sunsets were stellar.I would not hesitate to return again. We were on an extended road trip all the way FromToronto Canada and resting our heads in this relaxing locale really did the trick. We were starting to experience the San Diego phenomenon called "chill".lol
Keep up the good work, Check out the facebook page too; it brings back good memories of good times.

Room Tip: It's worth your while to reserve a covetted parking spot.We were remiss to hang around for some happy hours; so pay attention to what Oliver et al havew going on to welcome those staying there. Try all the local restos, walk the pier, and keep your eyes open for lots of traffic on the boardwalk!

Just returned from four nights in connecting rooms with wife and four kids. Wow. What a view ON THE BEACH!! Rooms are decent sizes with microwave and full size fridge. Staff was very nice and spent time with guests every day. I woke up early each morning for a breakfast at Konos On the Beach. We watched surfers and fishermen from the pier and my kids swam and took surfing lessons. We chose this property so that we could be on the beach and have enough extra vacation $$ to eat and play and have extra fun there. Prices are about 1/3 of the property next door with the same view and sand!! Did I mention this was on the beach?

We first stayed at this beach front motel in 1991 when sweet Daisy was the manager. She welcomed us for 20 years and watched our kids grow up. God rest her dear soul, she made it a tradition for us. Pacific View Motel was a frozen in time 1940s style beach front kitchenette motel. Loved the 1940s gas range/refrigerator combo, kitchen cabinets of dishes, pots & pans, dish soap and dish towels. You could fish all day and come back and fry up what you caught from the ocean in your room!

Sadly, the iconic Daisy has passed but her friendly, gracious ways have been pass down to the new management. There's no cooking in the comfy rooms now, but the staff made us feel right at home by giving us an extension cord for our jumbo griddle to fry up our day's catch outside on the balcony. The room was clean and fresh, new beds, shower and vanity fixtures. After all, we Arizonians are only inside the room to shower or plop down and sleep as we want to maximum the time outside in the cool, ocean breeze outdoors before we go back to the 115 degree blast furnace known as Scottsdale, AZ.

This is still the best value on the beach, thanks Pacific View Inn for preserving our yearly family fishing trip tradition!

Room Tip: Second floor, room ten windows look out on the ocean, great sunsets!
