Planes of all kinds, missions, flight and space mission. There was 3 hours of tour to see most of the museum.Memories from cadets my husband and brother in law made our tour more interesting. There were displays action landings and planes mounted all over the ceilings.Several theatres where I could view movies of space missions,Snow Birds and more.We will go again because there was more planes that we most of missed.

For those of us who have an interest in the air and space industry, this offers a lot to explore. Quite a few actual size air/spacecraft fill the large building, and many plaques relate how each filled a niche in history. You must pick and choose what to read…there's so much of it, but if you take cues from the pictures and titles you can make your own memory threads as you walk the circular exhibit hall.
We didn't do the "Believe it or Not" extra cost display, and didn't think we would have wanted to invest the additional time on it. Maybe families with children might find it worthwhile…we don't know.
Could be used to fill out a complete day in the Balboa Park area along with the zoo or other museums.

My husband is a pilot, so we usually visit the air and space museums in the various cities we travel to. This one was okay compared to some of the other ones we've been to, such as the one at Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C. There is a Ripley's Believe it or Not that you can pay an additional fee to go through, which was also okay.

As my husband is a retired engineer and r/c pilot we visit any air and space museum we can. We have seen some wonderful museums, but few can compare to the one in San Diego. The assortment of planes is amazing. The space objects are also great. The facility is huge, but very well laid out so viewing is very easy. It's clean and bright and "user friendly" except for one thing. It's very, very cold in the building. If you go, do take at least a sweater or a jacket. I heard several people say they had to leave because they were so cold. If you go, take the time to sit on the benches in different areas and view the brief movies they play. The movies really add so much to what you see and will help you to better understand what your seeing in the museum. We were there for 3 hours and pretty much saw all there was to see, but we could have done more reading in the different areas. It's a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. Go, you'll have a good time and learn a lot.

Decided to go through this museum after the Trolley Tour stopped here. It was a Saturday after Christmas but the lines weren't too long. They Trolley Tours provided a discount coupon, however, we received a better discount by showing our AAA card. The museum also has a traveling Ripley's Believe it or Not display that you could walk through for an additional $5.00.

There is a lot of air and space craft packed into the small space, but it is well laid out and the displays are very informative. The manikins, ground coverings and scene settings created a more enjoyable experience. Be sure to check out the center atrium displays too.

The snack bar had a picnic special, hot dog, chips, drink and cookie (coupon on ticket) for $5. The outdoor picnic tables had a wonderful view of downtown San Diego and Balboa Park.
