This is the BEST filet mignon ever. The quality of the meat, taste and preparation produced the best tasting steak ever. I like to cook but I will never get the quality and taste of a steak that I had at Donovan's The service was great as well and enjoyed a wonderful meal and evening. If I am in San Diego I will definitely go to Donavan's for dinner.

This was my best meal while in San Diego! I had the Petite Filet Mignon & Baked Potato. Elegant/intimate setting for dates for anniversaries. Will definitely go back next time I visit.

Spent the evening @ Donovan's in the Gas Lamp area for a special 60th birthday dinner celebration. Was not disappointed by the service nor the food. The steaks and sides were excellent and not to be missed is the Happy Hour offerings.
Wine selection was limited and somewhat overpriced..but not unexpected. Overall a budget buster that is worth the occasional splurge for great friends and special events.

A great choice for a business dinner. Heavy on the meat, good wine selection, moderate noise. Tables are a bit cramped and getting past the bar to the bathroom can be a maneuver, but over all our party of four enjoyed the meal. Our tab with tax/tip and a $70 bottle of wine was about $100/person.

Early dinner...underdressed but hostess sat us graciously. Server was fantastic, efficient but not intrusive. I had the filet and bacon wrapped scallops, hubby had the filet and Portobello....steaks cooked perfectly, asparagus was tasty and not tough. Perfect meal.
