Hillcrest is full of book stores, great restaurants, and all kinds of diversity. Home of the San Diego LGBT Community Center, a great art deco building, all are welcome. Interesting home decor, collectible and clothing shops abound. During LGBT Pride Week it's crowded with folks from all over the country and the world and sports an upbeat, festive, and inclusive vibe. Browse for used books, get a chiropractic adjustment, or grab a bite to eat. It's fun.

good shopping like health food groceries, used book stores, gap type stores. i like the gay atmosphere , cozy neighborhoods. . If a guy tells another guy standing in line somewhere that he's from hillcrest , thats's a polite way of flirting,.doesn't work so well with other girls, all the good ones are taken i guess. they make you put at least 100 words per review so i sort of ad libbed the flirting part/

We frequent the Landmark Cinema and the restaurants on the same street. Recent new restaurants look very interesting. We loved Brazen Bar-b-que.

Hillcrest is pretty walkable. Lots of boutiques and second hand stores. Lots of restaurants. Might need to scour the streets for street parking. If you're looking for a unique place to shop and eat, Hillcrest will not let you down. Really conservative or judgmental folks need not apply, but if you're non-judgmental and a happy spirit, come on down!

This section in San Diego is Gay Friendly and people are very relaxed & polite! My kind of place! Various restaurants and clubs to hang out at with friends and possibly meet new ones!! Thumbs Up!!
