Gorgeous views but wish there was a viewing area. Bet I would be to scared to get out if there were!! Took city bus but it went too fast to get great photos.

I took a helicopter tour and got a great pic of the Corondo Bridge. I also took the trolley over it also and it's pretty impressive bridge. If you ever have a chance to take a helicopter tour you can get a really cool picture of this bridge. I like to inspire people to travel on my fb page Duano's Travel and Picture Expeditions, If you want to see some of those pics

The Coronado Bridge was designed by San Diego architect Frank L. Hope, and the blue color and graceful arc of the bridge are remarkable. But I do miss the old car ferries, I must admit!

We have travelled this before and again we found the trolley to the station then the bus over to Coronado was an easy ride. We walked the area to the sea front to Hotel Del Coronado! then to a little restaurant and meandered back to the waterfront and caught the water Taxi back to the Harbourside. Delightful way to spend a few hours.

This bridge is unique in that it's a pillar supported vice suspension (cable) bridge, rising at it's highest (about 65 stories high) unobstructed views of San Diego Downtown skyline (Going Eastbound), or views of Coronado/North Island including the Famous Hotel Del Coronado (Going Westbound). Alongside, you can see on a clear day the city of Tijuana Mexico as well as the Coronado Islands and coastline trailing down to Ensenada. It seems unsafe as there's a "jersey wall" on both sides, but be fully assured, this would deflect any impact and keep a vehicle on the deck rather than in the drink. Frequently used by ad companies for car commercials, it's just that recognizable. Also, it's Paid off in full and TOLL FREE!
