Owner description: Features fascinating exhibitions and a new giant-screen Dolby digital 3D theater showing films with a focus on the natural world. The Museum’s award-winning exhibit design team creates exhibitions that focus on the unique and biodiverse southern California region. In addition, the Museum hosts several traveling exhibitions each year which teach visitors about our natural world as it is today and as it was in the past.

A small museum with limited scope but well worthy an hour or so. Good display of San Diego pre-history. One whole floor devoted to skulls that's a little tedious after a while if you're not totally fascinated by skulls (there's over forty snake skulls). February is half price, some Tuesdays are free for county residents.

Once again I must advice people to keep in mind free days and senior discounts.

This is a beautiful museum that has had some terrific exhibitions, including the Dead Sea Scrolls. There's always something worthwhile to see here. Check out the gift shop while you're there, too.

Not really much to see here. Some plastic models of dinosaurs. They push the shows.

No, sorry this was not worth the $20 entrance fee. So many of the exhibits downstairs were plastic I couldn't even begin to comment. Upstairs the skeleton skulls of birds was fairly interesting but I just couldn't look at the new 'fresh flesh' skeleton being eaten by lava! And I'm sorry, the 3D movie about sharks was ridiculous, it practically put me to sleep.

I am obviously very spoilt by terrific museums in London, which apart from being far superior in exhibits, size and quality, but are FREE.
