Old town is a beautiful place to enjoy a good pipe. The mexican food was great! Racine and Laramie was a nice part to our vacation.

“the best thing in old town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2004

love, love, love, the treasures this store has. A range of well hidden gems lurk behind the authentic victorian cabinets. Not just tobacco, they have beautiful boxes, marbles, old fashioned games and toys, knives. The people who work there looked awesome. They were all costumed to fit the time period of the store, and they were very nice and knowledgeable. The place is warmed by a real wood burning stove from the 1800's. not that it was too cold in sunny san diego.

“A trip back in time...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2003

Most tobacco shops look and feel like a warehouse these days. That is what is refreshing about Racine and Laramie. It is a very welcoming atmoshere where cigars are displayed like the treasure they truly are.
I was attended to by a relaxed gentleman who, considering the crowd, was willing to discuss the cigars and make suggestions. The prices were very fair. We bought some cigars and went to the Mexican restaurant just down the street (the best ever) and it was an afternoon that will not soon be forgotten. To prove this point; it was May 1993 when we went, more than 10 years have past and it is still a great memory.

I have been at R & L Tobacco Shop quite a few years ago while visiting a friend in San Diego. I received excellent attention at the shop where I bought a nice pipe tobacco ( English Burley). I wander if thy still stock it. All the best, Hector Mazzolenis
