We went to Tapas & Beers only by chance and were totally blown away! If you’re in downtown San Diego looking for an exceptional meal and experience, you must go there.
Tapas & Beers is on the edge of Gaslamp Quarter and owner Nael, along with a great group of enthusiastic folks, have turned it into something very special. Locals already know a good thing when they taste it. People working in the area fill the restaurant for lunch.
We went for dinner, ordered a selection of crostini, sweet and sour calamari, and mushroom and brie toasts and could not believe our tastebuds, not to mention the mouth-watering presentation. There are 19 local and one Mexican micro brewery beers to chose from and a good selection of wines. And if you have room for dessert, the key lime pie is extraordinary.
Fresh local ingredients, a variety of very special dishes, both tapas and full meals, attention to detail... there’s something to satisfy everyone, even kids’ options. Happy hour is from 4-7pm.
Don’t miss checking out the one-of-a-kind frozen beer tower and a few other surprises at this gem.
Am so glad we’re in San Diego for a few more days because we’re going back!
