This is not your ordinary hotel room. The bungalow-style rooms feel more private and exclusive and homey than any hotel room I've ever been in before. We stayed at Paradise Point in November and had a gorgeous room with double doors facing the bay. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom jacuzzi tub/shower enormous, and the fireplace in the room a giant plus. The grounds of Paradise Point are to die for. I honestly plan to stay here for any future visit to San Diego - I can't imagine a better vacation.

It felt like going into a lush Polynesian paradise as we drove into the resort. Most of the rooms/bungalows were right on the beach and had been recently renovated. The reservations staff were able to give us rooms for 50 people reasonably close together. The entire staff was wonderful. Everyone was happy with the beach, swimming pool, spa, tennis courts and great location. It was so easy to get to the airport and most major San Diego attractions within 20 minutes or less. We'll definately be back.

We have just returned from a family reunion at Paradise Point. A nice set up for family reunions or group meetings. Lots of connecting rooms and a variety of things to do. Also this is a good place if you're interested in Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Legoland, etc. If you're looking for a warm beach vacation, this is not the place. The beach isn't that great for sunning/swimming. The sand is gross and nobody swims in the bay -- the water is nasty. The bay is good for kayaking and sailing though. The resort has been recently remodeled so the rooms were nice. They all had a mini-fridge. There are fire pits out on the beach for campfires. Be sure to hit a grocery store for wood, s'mores, booze, water/soda, snacks and breakfast . The restaurant on the property was good, although it lacks ambiance indoors. The pools are heated, remodeled and most had hot tubs. There are bike rentals and put -put golf. It gets really cold at night - bring warm clothes!! Email me any questions.

we stayed in the hotel for 2 nights because it was very close to Sea World. the location is great and it gives the feeling of being in an exotic place on a secluded island. The Front Desk are very nice and helpful. we were helped by a very nice lady, her name was Tobay I think. the parking is expensive ($ 25 a night). Our room is on a ponf, close to the beach but not directly on it.the room is nice, but it has low ceiling, I dont know why they opted for that, but low ceilings bothers me a lot. the interior is nice. The floor is like stone in a shape of hardwood so it is perfect for the summers but it is cold for winter..I wish they had slippers waiting for us, something that I would expect in a luxurious resort. the powder area is nice but the toilet/tub area is very mediocre, and the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel is low quality.our room was not clean when we checked in, had some food stains on the table and the shower had hairs..which was pretty disgusting for us. I cleaned the table and sprayed the shower myself..we were very tired and didnt feel like leaving the room so that housekeeping clean. I was very disappointed in that, I mean how can you expect this from a luxury resort. In addition, the coffee supplies were not complete and there was no tea provided in the room as an option. we asked for a pack n play, it was delivered with a sheet that has a huge stain..again, not up to my expectations...I suggest that they have some sort of a housekeeping supervisor that inspects the room after cleaning. We ate at the barefoot grill, the menu is limited and most of the items had pork in them. it was average, expensive and the portions are small, but the ambiance is very nice. our room overlooked the pond, but we wish the doors had screens, it is impossible to leave the door open if you have toddlers (dangerous), but we felt some mosquito around at night. we walked at night around, it is very nice and we saw bonfires on the beach..very nice environment, but it needs a lot of attention to details to ask for this price.

We stayed at Paradise Point for 4 nights and they really took care of us. We booked a basic interior room and they upgraded us when we got there not only to a bigger room but to one on the bay. It was large and roomy with a room even for us to change in without having to take up the bathroom. We ate at both restaurants and the staff is so friendly and the food is really good. The pool we used was warm enough, but the main pool was a little cold, probably because it was cold for that time of year in San Diego. Our kids loved renting a quad bicycle and driving around the grounds. It was only a 2 minute drive to Sea World. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Good location, service, and nice grounds. Too dark at night. Uncomfortable bed. Room not clean. Room service and bar food terrible. Chocolate cake was dry muffin split in half with fake whipped cream. Maids took no trash including empty cans and room service tray. Rooms are cinderblock and clammy. Wouldnt complain if not touted as upscale resort.

This resort is located in a stunning part of Mission Bay. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We also liked the location which was convienent to the airport, downtown and the beaches.
The rooms are located in 3 - 4 unit clusters scattered around the resort. They has some updated features like flat tv's, granite bathrooms and nice beds and bedding. The basic structure, however, was pretty dated. It appeared to be a '60s vintage and the couch felt like it had been there 50 years. The room also had a rather moldy smell - we couldn't tell if it had just been not used in a while or actually had a problem. The a/c was also ancient although you probably don't need to use it much with the beautiful weather.
We ate several times at the casual restaurant overlooking the bay. THe food was actually much better than I expected from a place that really had a capative audience.
Al in all, we had a very nice time and the hotel staff was great. With a major room refurbishment, this could be a world class resort. As it is, Paradise Point is a very nice place with a few things you must overlook.
