This was a gift to me from some friends and I must say it was the best trip I ever did take. It was a place for me to get away and just relax. It was very comfortable and well deserved.....I'm planning on taking my kids next time.

It was really really bad. My sister in law drove 1 hour to review the rooms fro us as we are from the east coast of canada, she was shown a nice ajoining room by the hotel and booked it for two night based on that room. When we went to check in our room was not ready at 4 so we went to the zoo. when we came back 2 hours later we still had to wait for the room and we were give different rooms then we booked. we complained and they sais they were full and there was nothing they would do.
When in the room we had to kill 4 spiders. The gorunds were not kept up around our room and the night lighting on the walks did not work. I agree with the other reviews about getting jammed on fees. very expensive. This place is a 2 star dressed up as a 4 star. Stay somewhere elase if you expect more!

This experience has succeeded in scaring me off Priceline for a long time. Dank smells, Many screaming children, everywhere.,HUGE charges to use Business, fitness centers and nearly everything else and my priceline "Bargain" was only 10% off Published Rates. Oh, how i wish that they had only a pale little star instead of the overrated 4!

As this resort is considered to be a five star, I went expecting the best ! With the dollar at a high against the pound, booking direct made this affordable. But once there - $20 daily for parking, $15 daily gym, Water sports hire $40-80 1/2 hr, Crazy golf $11. All resturants very expensive, in fact everything was extra and at a cost!. 5 Pools - yes but very few seats around the 4 smaller ones and the Main pool was for children to play and you felt like you were sitting in a cinema in rows at least 3 deep! No shade! On the plus side, lovely gardens and settings and ballrooms , although these are only used for outside functions not guests. There is very little to keep you there in the evening. Rooms OK, lots of towels and extras. BUT, a very small old fridge situated high next to the TV comes on constantly all through the night! They do have a lovely beach, but do not provide any chairs or encourage you to use it. The staff are all very freindly and helpful but if only they read these reviews!

I am a resort landscape designer, and frequently traveling and staying in several hotels. this hotel has good protential to be the world class 5 stars hotel if they put some $$ to clean it up. It is the most horrible, scary, and unbearable stays I have ever had in my life. Thank their staff and priceline helped to refund the second day. I can't even stay one more minute after wake up at 5am. Stink, ugly and dirty. spider everywhere.....unreliable...photos on their website are big LIES!!!
At the end, to give some credits of refund, I strongly suggest their managing company Nobel House to pay some money update interior. It wastes the beauty of outdoor environment. Thank you very much.

We took the kids ages 2 and 7 for 3 nights. We booked a bayside suite which was right on the beach with a lovely view. the hotel has fun activities for families~ mini golf, bikes, ping pong, pools. Room service is pretty sad though. The food was mediocre. The grounds coulld be kept up a little better. We checked in at 4pm and rooms were not ready when we got there. There were many families with wild kids (mine included) running loose in the lobby while we waited for rooms to be released. If check in is at 4, the rooms should be ready. We don't plan to stay there again.

My husband and I booked a room for 2 nights in the middle of the week at this "resort" through Priceline and were expecting a 4-star experience. We would have even settled for a 3-star experience. Not the case.

First off, their website clearly states that check-in is at 4 p.m but be prepared to wait. We were in line at least 20 minutes, only to be told by a manager that check-in was "actually between 4 and 5" and that checking-in just meant "checking-in, not that the room was ready". Our room was ready an hour later and we only knew that because we came back to the lobby to inquire about what was taking so long.

Second, be prepared to spend a lot of $$$ on hotel services, some of which are not mentioned on their website. Parking is $20 per night for a spot in front of the bungalow. The "free" mini-golf course advertised on their website is actually $10 per person. The fitness center, basketball court, volleyball court and internet are also extra costs. The Barefoot Bar and Grill prices are also extreme ($13 for a drink???).

Third, we had not housekeeping during our stay. We were out of our room for at least 8 hours in the morning/afternoon and came back to an untouched room.

Fourth, the bungalow we stayed in was not 4-star quality. The room had a bed and breakfast type feel to it except the bed was hard as a rock. The in-room movie would not work and when we tried to check out through the hotel's TV system, we gave up after 3 tries and a call to the front desk.

I hesitate to mention the plethora of children riding rented hotel bikes throughout the many parking lots on the wrong side of the road but it is definitely a safety hazard. The hotel claims it only rents to those "18 and older" but this was obviously not the case during our stay.

The only positives I can think of are the adults-only pool and the close proximity to San Diego attractions. My husband and I will not be returning, Priceline rates or not.
