“Nicely remodeled rooms. Walls paper thin.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Nice large room with very comfortable beds and bathroom. Room was impeccably clean. Very dated resort but nice but the dated-ness shows in the clustering of rooms and paper thin walls. Wall unit heat/air was also noisy.

Nice stay and nicely maintained resort. Centrally located to beaches, Sea World, downtown, and airport.

Be warned... $32/ night for parking and $17 night resort fee. So, almost $50 in fees added to room rate.

I would stay again.

I am with other posters: you'll feel like you're in Hawaii here. And the access to Pacific Beach is just one of the pluses....it's quick access to everything San Diego, including downtown, the Mission, hiking trails, LaJolla, Coronado Island, all the awesome tourism sites, plus Julian—45 minutes up the road in the mountains. The rooms feature an island vibe without being over the top. Clean, spacious, comfortable. You'll need to bring your own utensils and some paper towels and plates for the kitchen or take a quick trip to the Goodwill in Pacific Beach for supplies and to hit the Trader Joe's for grub. But that is OK with us if it keeps the prices down. Make sure you try to Baleen, the restaurant there. I am a foodie, and it is absolutely worth the price you'll pay. Extremely fresh, local and creative food. And really no more expensive than you'll pay in other fine restaurants in the San Diego area, which we did try. There's also a couple of good restaurants in Pacific Beach, a five minute car trip away, but the food at Paradise Pt. is worth checking out. We heard they were going to be remodeling the restaurant this year but we'll keep the same awesome staff. The concierge and front desk are really friendly and professional too. There's five pools and the big one is especially fun (sand bottom) and never seemed crowded. The landscape is gorgeous. You will feel like you're at a high end resort in Hawaii. The only drawback: We did need to request extra blankets because the evenings were cool when we were there in early January and we don't like listening to heaters all night long (but that's often the case in any hotel). Over all, we loved Paradise Point. Yes, we wish they'd kill the resort fees at all resorts, but at the one it does include the parking and the bikes and the exercise studio (which is large and well stocked) so it's really worth it. We also saw something at Paradise that we have never seen at a resort before: they have electric cars onsite that you can rent and charge there! It's amazing. So skip the rental at the airport and take a shuttle to the resort and use one of these cars!

Room Tip: Reserve a beach bungalow in the 500 section for the quietest experience. If you get noisy neighbors...

This 44-acre property could pass for Hawaii or another tropical location if you get a room looking over the bay. A lovely beach with firepits for night-time visits rings the property. The guest rooms must have been lovingly redone fairly recently. Beds very comfortable and everything very clean. Within walking distance of Sea World if you don't mind the 1.6 mile trek. Friendly staff. Wonderful coffee bar in the lobby. Lots of exercise options.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Mission Bay and for a connecting, double/king if you have a family. The k...

Paradise Point is our absolute favorite hotel and the best in San Diego! We have stayed at Paradise Point since 1966 and we would not stay anywhere else in San Diego. All the amenities at the hotel are 5 star and the employees treat you like family. The rooms are very welcoming and there is 44 acres to explore and enjoy a relaxing vacation.

Room Tip: There is no bad rooms at Paradise Point!

location is very good. in mission bay and near to seaworld and pacific beach.resort is very good, just minutes away from seaworld and also not far from san diego zoo.we completed san diego safari on th e way back to santa monica so location was ideal.they had bbq spot on the beach. our rooms had a beautiful garden and lake view but if i go again then i would select the bay view rooms with beach.rooms were good, bathroom was good and amenities were good quality.they charged a passport and parking fee which i felt was unfair.but all in all a very good resort with good trained and efficient employees .main pool was temperature controlled and resort had good faciities

Room Tip: select rooms with bay view even if u have to pay more .

Reservations for two nights. Upon entering room, the odor was so strong it was sickening. Chemical, mold odor. I left the patio door open as long as I could until dusk until the bugs started flying in. No screens. I even turned the old heat/ac window unit with the hopes it would help. It didn't ,so I informed office I couldn't stand it any longer and my son started having nasal drainage with coughing too after a couple hours in room. Manager apologized and offered me a another room. The second room didn't smell as bad but it was still very bad. The window heat/ac unit made loud strange noises all night which scared my son. Basically no sleep. I checked out in the morning a day early. I had to find a hotel at the last moment. If I wouldn't have found another hotel, we would have slept in the car before I would endure another night at such horrid accommodations

Food terrible. I Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich delivered by room service. It wasn't edible. I threw the chicken away and luckily had jiffy peanut butter to spread on the bread. Paradise no...nightmare.

I was assured that the manager would call me as soon as he arrived on site as I was checking out. Never received call. Room was $277 a night.....unbelievable

Paradise Point has a very affordable and beautiful elopement package. We got married here recently and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a small, intimate, and stress free wedding! Julie was absolutely fabulous as our wedding coordinator. We had our reception in the Barefoot Grille. We've eaten there many times on different occasions and the food is consistently good but unfortunately they didn't seem so prepared on this afternoon and ran out of some food choices. Also they were a bit understaffed for our party of 20 and had to wait a while on the food. If I could go back, I would have done the reception in one of the main banquet/confer rooms. Otherwise, the property is beautiful and the service was perfect. Katie at the front desk was so great and Melodie at the spa did a great job on my hair and makeup (included in the elopement package!) We had an A+ meal at the Baleen. The rooms are big and comfortable. Yes, there are fees for parking and such, but you'll get that anywhere you stay in San Diego. We'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: a beach bungalow is highly romantic!
