Point Loma has housed many years of Fishermen that San Diego depended on their industry for so long, then sadly....the business went by the wayside. And I miss seeing the Fishing Boats tied up at San Diego Harbor Drive. However, Point Loma offers Shelter Island, which then offers hotels; restaurants; a fishing pier used a lot. Many places to park with the lawn up against you to put a chair out to enjoy the harbor views. Driving the total length of Shelter Island is a pleasure, with lots of history depicted in various areas. Recalling the Fishermen of San Diego. And other subjects. Point Loma in general is a pleasant place to drive through, around to find various shops and businesses, especially having to do with boats, vessels. On Shelter Isld. they actually Build them there, so very interesting.
Several places to eat, all good selections.
