This apartment was very clean and great for our family of 4. It is located right downtown San Diego (can be noisy) within walking distance of many restaurants, bars and Petco Park. However, the pictures of the apartment on the website were not of the exact apartment we rented, but it was still very nice. Also, make sure you know if parking is included or not. Ours was not and parking is very difficult and expensive in downtown San Diego. Otherwise, it was very nice.
We stayed in the condo for a quick 3 night trip to San Diego with our two teen kids. The condo was perfect for us from a bed/sleeping standpoint. One of our kids slept in the second bedroom and the other slept on the pull out couch. Having a second bathroom was also great and allowed everyone to get ready relatively quickly in the morning. Everything was pretty new and in good shape. Parking was very convenient under the building but we did have an issue when we arrived as the opener for the garage was not in the unit where it was supposed to be. However, after a quick call to Stay Alfred, the opener was dropped off in less than 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend paying for parking up front as finding a spot on the street can be challenging.
The building is walking distance to both Petco Park (baseball stadium) and to the Gas Lamp district which offer a huge variety of dining and entertainment options. There are a good number of homeless people in the area and in San Diego in general but they seem to keep to themselves for the most part. The unit is off a city street so it can be a bit noisy during the day but did not keep us up at night.
Overall, I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a cool place to stay near the Gas Lamp district without actually staying right there.
We are a family of 4 - we used both bedrooms plus the pull-out sofa bed. The sofa bed was almost impossible to sleep on because it was so uncomfortable. The photos make the house seem larger than it is, with more privacy than there actually is. We realized that it is actually an office space with glassed in rooms being the 2 bedrooms. The plastic blinds should be replaced with fabric curtains - this would be an improvement. Location was okay - quiet, close to many places around town. We used cabs and loved Little Italy. Good breakfast restaurants nearby. The kitchen was okay. The elevators and check-in were all good. We liked the roof-top deck - it was a nice unexpected feature. For the rental rate, the suite and its amenities were adequate/average. Not over the top in any way. But it was clean and we slept well.
This loft was spectacular; I wish I had been in town to use all of the available amenities.
Super close to the downtown area which made finding places to eat, walk, and skate very easy. I do think parking needs to be included with the rental.
These apartments are gorgeous. I mean for the price you pay I think they're great. Don't expect a luxurious cosmopolitan stay. I'd compare these to the aria in Las Vegas, clean, simple, new, the one thing I could say I didn't like are the balconies. We had two, one in my bedroom and the second in the living room, since people actually live in these apartments, you get to see some people's homes. Once you step out to the balcony you can already see someone cooking or cleaning in their apartments. So the point of the balcony is quite minimal. Unless you don't mind people watching you. It's quite small too so all of the apartments are really close to eachoher and that makes it a lot more open to people watching you. Other than that, don't forget your groceries food drinks etc! They have all of the equipment you need minus the actual food and drinks! Everything is great. Bathrooms might be a bit outdated but the apartment is still beautiful. Not too far from gaslamp either! Would def stay here again and I really hope prices don't go up!
2-bed, 2-bath full apartment, well kept and clean, conveniently located walking distance in the Gaslamp district. Nice little apartment gym on first floor. Foldup playard in unit for infants. Highly recommended.
The apartment was great had everything we needed, very clean with plenty of towels, and other necessities. Very central to everything, we were able to reach all of our destinations in 10-15 min which was great and there are also may things walking distance for coffee and eats. However, parking was terrible, received a ticket, lots of homeless people who set up tents after 9 pm. If you are staying and aren't bringing your family I guess it would be easier to deal with but I really don't recommend bringing kids. We were there 3 nights and throughout our entire stay there was a heavy smell of marijuana through the halls and when we opened the windows to the apartment. We tried our best to stay out of the apartment and halls but eventually had to come back to sleep. When we would come back the streets were lined with homeless in tents we literally had to walk around them it is a pretty bad area. But never once did anyone ask for money or hand out. But it is pretty scary walking down the street when they are lined with tents and homeless.
