Stayed in room 202 April 11-13, 2005. This hotel is on a bluff and you walk down several stairs to hit the beach. The hotel, its' employees and the view far exceeded all expectations! Room 202 is very spacious and included a balcony, robes, hair dryer, iron and board, mini-bar, king bed, dining table and chairs, along with granite- countered kitchenette, bar and bathroom. Balcony had an absolutely gorgeous Pacific Beach coastline and Crystal pier view. This room is on the side of the hotel, so the view isn't directly over the ocean and we couldn't see the pool. A public parking lot was next to our room, but we didn't have any bothersome noise. (And we're really picky about excessive noise. If we're on vacation, we want peace and quiet!) Rooms directly overlooking the pool and ocean are located in the center of the hotel. Outstanding service from employees. Everyone smiling, polite and helpful at every turn. Special touches include: (all complimentary) beverage/coffee bar, wine hour continental breakfast and morning newspaper. Beautiful hotel grounds made the views from the warm pool and jacuzzi even more enjoyable. Attentive drink service at the pool. After seeing the other hotel choices in Pacific Beach, there is absolutely no other choice than Pacific Terrace Hotel. Underground parking is $15/day, with unlimited usage. We were lucky enough to find public parking next to the hotel. We were close enough that we walked to every restaurant. Just a few short blocks to everything. Loved this hotel and we're already drooling to return!

We stayed here right in the end of September, the Hotel is on the beach and if you reserve a beach facing room (a little extra $ at reservation) - it's totally worth it. We spent this as a second honeymoon and were not diapointed at all. The staff was very helpful and extremely knowledgable on the area and where to go and what to expect - one of the front desk ladies assisted me with getting to the last Padres game of the year!

If you're going to San Diego as a get away from it all and want the beach, spend the money and stay here. If you going for shopping check out the downtown "Gas Lamp" area hotels, but this is great for just walking on the beach and driving up to La Jolla for an evening as well!

What a find!!! We were looking for a place to stay along pacific and mission beach and first stopped by the Best Western which wanted $180 for an ocean view. We had driven by the Pacific Terrace, but to be honest, looked sooo nice from the outside I thought for sure it would be over priced. My "new" wife convinced me to go check prices and see if they had any rooms available. When I got in, I asked if they gave a AAA discount. The nice lady at the desk crossed out a room rate of $385 and wrote in $195 for an ocean view. Right away I knew this was the place to complete our honeymoon. Turns out the room she was going to put us in was not ready so we were upgraded to a premier ocean view room right above the boardwalk overlooking the ocean. This was honestly one of the best places we could have ever found we had to stay an additional night. If you are headed to San Diego and want to stay on the ocean and walk to anywhere, This Is The Place!!!

I don't know if I can speak highly enough of this place. We were walking up the beach looking at a hotel to stay at for the night and we walked in on this one. The friendly service was impeccable. They even went to the trouble of showing us the room we would have. We had the room for $178 for the night instead of the $355 rack rate. We had to get to UCSD that day and found the conceirge was out to lunch but the other staff just jumped in and sorted us out, we were going by bus so they got a timetable and a map for us. We headed out for lunch down Garnett St which is packed full of shopping, eating and bars (although most play hip hop) WE went back to the hotel and were surprised at the friendliness when we walked in, was an event that puts a smile on your dial. We left for UCSD and went out that night until quite late at night (1am) we walked back to the hotel and whilst they lock the doors at night, someone was there to let us in, we asked about a late checkout and were told we needed to contact housekeeping in the morning. Arriving back in our room our jaws dropped. We found a letter under the door wishing us a lovely stay, the beds turned down, a mint on the pillows and the radio turned on for us to enjoy. This made our night, we paid $220+ a night for hotel rooms in vegas and didn't get this kind of service. WE had a great nights sleep and the beds were fantastic. Woke up and gave housekeeping a call, they allowed us until 12:30 to chekcout so we went back to sleep. The attention to detail at this hotel is amazing and the staff really deserve a pat on the back for it. We didn't get a chance to use the pool or spa but they sure looked inviting. If we got back to San Diego, this place is definetly on the top of our list.

My friend and I stayed at the Pacific Terrace the 3rd thru the 5th of March.
It was wonderful. We were upgraded without even asking to an ocean
view room. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and professional.
The room was clean and pretty. The hotel location was right
on the beach. It was also near every type of store one could
possibly need. One staff member helped us with driving directions and
recomended Gringos restaurant, which was fabulous. The weather
was less than perfect but the staff was perfect! I will come back
with my husband, 15 yr old and 10yr old. Nice heated pool and jacuzzi.

Stayed over Valentines Weekend Feb 12-14.

Despite inconsistent weather, we had a great time.

The Hotel is very clean, roomy and the staff was very friendly. We loved falling asleep listening to the ocean waves crashing. The location on Pacific Beach is very convienent for activities. I highly reccomend renting bikes and spend a day exploring the Pacific Beach/ Mission Bay area. It felt like we were around the "happening" part of San Diego. The only drawback to Pacific Beach is parking. It is probably worth it to pay $15/night for the garage.

Happy travels to all!
