We decided on this hotel because of the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were so happy that we trusted it. We had an oceanfront suite with jacuzzi tub and two balconies. Not only was the room beautiful and spacious, but the people there were absolutely wonderful! Joe Sutherland was one that really stood out as being very friendly and helpful. Diego too. The buffet breakfast every morning was really good. We wish it would've been included in our rate, but not a big deal. The location of the hotel is perfect. You can walk to any restaurant/bar right down the boardwalk in front of the ocean. We were able to walk to a CVS also to get necessities. We didn't have great weather, but it was one of our best trips ever. We were able to sit at the pool and hot tub one day and that area is beautiful too.

Room Tip: spend a little more to get full oceanfront on 3rd floor.

My husband and I stayed there for a weekend and enjoyed our stay so much. The hotel was beautiful inside and out. We had so much fun, and would recommend it to friends and family. The staff was really friendly. We met the front desk manger Enrico, and he was very helpful made us feel welcome. The hotel was so cute! We will be back :)

My husband and I just got back from 5 days at PT hotel. Had room 318. Very nice and clean. Spacious enough with a great balcony over the pool/ocean view. Drawback was the weather did not cooperate to see a nice sunset or sit on the balcony and watch the ocean, but great trip anyway. We are big walkers and you can walk anywhere from here. Ocean walk is very busy with lots of activity and great people watching. Everyone and I REALLY MEAN EVERYONE is friendly and nice at this hotel. Not one person, from maintenance to front desk, hesitate to greet you when you walked by even if they were very busy doing their job. We ate at the Fishery nearby which was great. Did not use pool or hot tub since it was cool although plenty of people were there. DId not do the breakfast although it looked good. I asked the housekeeping woman if we could have extra regular coffee packets and she handed me 3 of them. Several other places I stayed at made it such a hassle to get more than one packet. Pacific Beach is a unique area and even though it appears to be more spring breakish, it is family oriented. Just walk the neighborhoods. The main part on Grand and Garnet can be a little challenging. Certainly saw some interesting characters. This hotel is at the north end of the beach and seems quieter than further south. Not sure who is running the place, but GREAT JOB!

Room Tip: 3rd floor is nice. Be sure to get the ocean view.

Pacific Terrace Hotel was such a great experience and the perfect choice for a quick birthday getaway. Right on the boardwalk our room had huge sliding glass doors out to a balcony that was so close to the water that the surf was the first thing I heard every morning.
The service was absolutely excellent and the employees clearly love their jobs and sincerely want to provide a good experience. They even put bottles of water in our car as we were leaving in case we needed a drink on the way out of town!
The hotel itself is lovely, the room was spacious (third floor suite), everything worked, very nice breakfast buffet option and absolutely the closest to the beach location on Pacific Beach. Everything PB has to offer is literally right outside the door. We will definitely stay here again next time we're in San Diego.

Room Tip: Oceanfront on the third floor is perfect.

Just returned from this hotel. We bought the least expensive room category which turned out to be a good thing because the sun stayed behind the fog the entire weekend so I would have upset to have spent $450 on a room overlooking the fog in addition to being cold all weekend but the hotel cannot control the weather after all. I was a bit concerned after arriving Friday evening and hearing a fellow guest whining to an employee about being accused by another guest of stealing an elevator as he dripped water from the pool onto the tile floor. The hotel seemed equally visited by couples as wells as families with LOTS of kiddos running down the hallway which surprised me due to the price point. This transfers to the experience as the hallway ceilings are very low and hallways are tile so everything echoes down the hallway and into the room. My neighbor closed there door at least 10 times the first hour of the morning which rattled our room so it was a matter of we were up once the first neighbor got up.

The staff was very pleasant and I loved the self serve coffee in the lobby each morning.

The room decor was very nice and the bed comfortable.

I am not sure if I would return to this hotel as there are so many other Mission Beach options at a lower price point with similar pluses and minuses.

FYI. The secured garage is $22 a night but this is pretty common to all of the Mission Beach hotels.

Room Tip: Beware of rooms near the lobby and breakfast room. I cannot imagine how loud these would be. Possibly ask for a room with carpeted hallways to cut down on the echo in the hallways which may be on the higher floors.
