We stayed in the King Jr. Suite and had a great view of pool and ocean, the kitchenette was great and the room was fairly spacious. My family loved that Everything is right there..pool, boardwalk, beach.

The property is lovely-clean, nicely decorated, quiet. A computer in the hallway on a nice antique piece of furniture for guests use. The greatest thing though was the staff. I have never been to a hotel where the staff were so helpful but also personable at the same time. When we mentioned at breakfast that we left some flip flops out by the pool the day before and needed to find the lost and found, our server went outside, found them and brought them to our table on a tray! Bikes (free rental) were promptly brought out when we asked for them. Warm freshly baked cookies are out every afternoon. Crystal Pier is nearby and we saw dolphins playing. The amusement park in Mission Beach was a fun thing to do for a couple of hours, and is just down the boardwalk. Anyway Pacific Terrace is a small sweet hotel that I highly recommend.

They have a quaint buffet breakfast, but room service is called out to local restaurants. All of their recommendations were spot on. The one time we did not take their recommendation we went to Joe's Crab Shack and it was a disaster, but that is another story!

Room Tip: Reserve second or third floor, ocean view. A corner is the best.

My family of 4 (two boys ages 4 and 7) just returned from spring break. We split our time between the pacific terrace and torrey pines lodge. We tend to like to stay in very nice places and were hesitant about Pacific Terrace - but it was terrific - perfect location, great pool, nice rooms and very clean hotel. We stayed on 3rd floor in an ocean view room. We could see dolphins swimming from our balcony. Tons of great restaurants within walking distance. My boys absolutely loved pacific beach and the vibe. As mentioned over and over the staff at PT is super friendly. They add nice touches such as bikes available to borrow and sand toys. We were very pleased with our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the pacific terrance hotel, We had a side view junior suite on the second floor, very nice room, lots of space, great housekeeping. its on the side so its a little quiter and still a great sunset view of the ocean. I dont think you could get a bad room. The area is perfect right on the beach, lots of surf bars and restraunts very laaid back.. if you want more trendy places la jolla is 10 mins up the road.besides the location i have to give a big shout out to the staff at the hotel. Managment should be thanked (and thankfull) for having such great people there, ive been all over the world and have stayed in some really nice hotels but i have not seen service like this . first all everyone says good morning/evening/ hi / whatever!! i mean everyone!! front desk people, maintenance people and cleaners!!! its doesnt sound like much but you would be suprised how many people in diffrent places dont even acknoledge you!! Second we asked the front desk attendent for restraunt reviews and shopping places and even got him to book padres opening week tixs!! and he still wanted to do more for us!!! WOW!! (give him a raise ;) Thanks again for all the help, we really enjoyed our stay and would definetly recomend this hotel to anyone and would love to stay again someday!!! I never went to the Spa or the breakfast in the morning (kono's is just down the path a bit and it was awesome!!) but im sure it would be all good!!

Room Tip: All the rooms have a view of the beach, we had a junior suite very big. You cant go wrong just book...

I am a travel agent and I stayed here to see where I like to put my clients with they are booking a Disneyland/ San Diego package. I loved the location, pool was smaller than it looked in the pictures. I would stay again next time just on the 2nd or 3rd floor. The beds are in a "bed frame" that sticked out at least 5 inches. Everytime that we got into bed you would hit your knee! The bed was also about 6 inches from the glass sliding door! not much space!
VERY friendly staff and very safe. One more thing, when the beds were made, it looked like a couple 2 yr olds were jumping on it for an hour! Both beds looked horrible when we would return after the housekeeping was done.

Room Tip: dont stay in rooms 110 109 108... those rooms are a bit "worn". the carpet was dirty.

Dear Travelcafekim,
We get so many guests with the Disney package I am glad you made it to our hotel to check it out. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the complement of the staff. Great news for your future guests, our bed spreads are custom made for our hotel and the ones you had were a loose gathered look that we recently voted against. We have a new shipment of the custom made red/orange tropical ones coming soon. Our carpet is also less than 2 years old but we’ll take a look at the rooms noted. Thank you again for staying with us and we hope to welcome you back again sometime.
Sincerely,
Angela Hansen

I've been vacationing in Pacific Beach/Mission Beach for almost two decades - and I go several times a year. This is a great area for people of any age. Anything you could want is a close walk away - from local coffee shops to Starbucks, casual bars/grills to fine dining.
Pacific Terrace Hotel is great. It's a smaller hotel and is pricey but all the hotels in this area are very pricey and at least with Pacific Terrace you get what you pay for. There are plenty of other places in the area that cost as much and are a disappointment.
The rooms are clean and well appointed. The suites and jr suites are great if you have kids with you - more space to spread out.
Ocean view rooms are worth the upgrade but book that room type before you show up. They are often fully booked so it may not be possible to upgrade upon arrival.
The concierge is ready and willing to help you schedule outings and often has discounted tickets.
We often rent houses but if we go the hotel route this is our favorite.

Great staff throughout hotel. Though the hotel is somewhat dated, still a great place to stay. Walking distance or public transportation to anything you'd like to see in surrounding areas!
Had an ocean view room that overlooked the pool & was ideal for viewing the pool or the ocean. Many surfers in the ocean in front of hotel. Great restaurants & pubs near by but be careful of the costs; feel $ 95 for two for lunch is a little pricey!

We recently stayed at this hotel for three nights. I can't say enough about the property, the staff and the grounds. Whoever manages this hotel knows how to do it right!. I will never stay anywhere else when visiting San Diego.
