I have never been disappointed with there food and service. It is one of the best places for lunch specials.

We enjoyed a very good meal at Spices Thai. The soups (in a hot pot to share) are delicious as are the salads, loved the Thai salad!

We found there are so many available choices of different combinations of entree dishes, it was excellent for vegetarians and carnivores alike. That was particularly good as usually vegetarians only have a small section of the menu! So good to be able to choose the strength of spice too.

We just about had room for some delicious coconut & green tea ice creams as well as a gorgeous sticky rice desert with mango.

All of the servers were delightful, friendly and efficient.

Had not been to this restaurant in over 10 years and it is still as good as it was. Great service, great food and very nice atmosphere. Only disappointment is that they don't have mock duck. Green curry was excellent as was the seafood in pineapple

Spices at Piazza Carmel caters to a local lunch crowd and can get busy. Both the food and the service are fine - but nothing special.
It's decent value for lunch - and predictable in terms of items and preparation. Unfortunately for San Diegans, there are not a whole lot of great Asian restaurants. Many of the better ones are on Convoy - far from where most people want to go for lunch.

I have been to Spices Thai in Carmel Valley Ctr about once a month for the last several years. The food is consistently very good, and very consistent: you order Tom Kha Khai today and you can be assured it is going to be exactly the same as it was a month or 12 months ago. After so many visits we have learned to stay away form the specials menu: the simpler currys and apasta menus is excellent, while some of their attempt at creativity, well, not so good. From the curries their green curry with duck is very nice, as are the eggplant and the basil leave or the mint leave. They make a killer Pad Tai noodles (however it is spelled). And in season we alweays get for dessert sticy rice with mango.
