K Sandwiches was featured in a local newspaper so it seemed like a good place to try a banh mi in SD. There's plenty of seating inside, a small grocery section with ready made foods, baked goods, and sandwiches made to order. The sandwich menu is pretty extensive and includes the typical banh mi made with french bread as well as croissant sandwiches.
The boyfriend and I opted for a grilled chicken and grilled pork banh mi. The grilled pork was specified in the paper so we got one of those for sure. The meat in the banh mi was ok, but they didn’t impress me. The flavor was there, but it was a bit dry. I loved the abundance of pickled veggies, especially the daikon. The bread wasn’t that good - it had a nice crust but lacked the chewy innards.
I also got a taro boba. The taro flavor was pretty good but a bit too sweet. The boba had a great chew and consistency but tasted like nothing. Seriously, it had no taste. I like my boba a bit on the sweet side. I was hungry so the meal hit the spot, but I want to continue my search for boba and banh mi in SD.
